Regular interviews starting again it seems....

I joined here after lurking for a long time to share some news. We filed for a CR-1 visa and were DQ'd in the middle February at NVC and simply waiting for some sort of action to move it forward. We were going to wait about one more month and then put in for an expedite. To my shock, last night we received the email from NVC that we have an interview appointment on October 27th in Manila. Again we did not expedite and I have not seen others yet who got an interview without expediting the petition. Hopefully others will start to have good news soon as well. Too bad when I went to register for the medical at SLEC it seems the website is not working. Best of luck to all!

Makes sense. The embassy is going to have a growing backlog every day that they sit on their hands with the "normal" cases. The embassy's website has zero information on this, so maybe we can expect something within the next few days. Another PH user, Miyaka, said she requested an expedite in late August, then was scheduled for an Oct interview without the expedite being considered. It looks like they're back to normal.

We have been having people reporting here last couple month they have been contacted to do a interview, but they all seem to be doing CR-1.

 

I haven't seen anyone do a routine K1 visa interview, nor any tourist visa as well

“Regular” meaning interview where expedite wasn’t requested. Yes this is CR-1, and I cannot comment on K-1, but I would imagine they would be starting soon too.
