N-400 and travelling abroad

Hi everyone. 

I have a serious concern. I applied for citizenship late August of this year and found out shortly after that a very close relative is sick/dying 😢 so I will have to travel to my country for maybe 2 months at a time next month . I am seriously concerned about my relative and this citizenship application, this year can go to hell as far as I'm concerned 😟 

Does anyone have/have had a similar occasion ,hopefully not sick relative,but having to travel for an extensive time several times within a year?

How much extensive travel how you done within the year?

It will probably be more than 1 time , that's what concerns me .

I have had one trip outside of the US but for like a week. It will probably be around 2 months at a time ,but a few times . Do they add it up or how does it work?

My family is more important than citizenship ,if I lose it ,I lose it,but I would like to be approved of course.

2 weeks is nothing. you most likely won’t be out of the county longer than you need to be in it for citizenship if you are only doing two months at a time. 
 

Applicants are required to show that they were:

• Physically present in the U.S. for thirty months within the five year period before applying, or (see legal basis)
• Physically present in the U.S. for eighteen months within the three year period before applying in the case of qualified spouses of U.S. citizens (see legal basis)

In addition, applicants are required to show they have resided for at least three months immediately preceding the filing of Form N-400 in the USCIS district or state where the applicant claims to have residency (See 8 CFR §316.2(a)(5) & §319.1(a)(5)).

Ok, thank you. Only reason I'm going back and forth is for my relative, if i hadn't just applied for the citizenship I would've stayed out of the us longer than 2 months. So when I go back I will be back in the states for maybe a week or 2. But all the requirements you listed i have followed, this is the only time I'll be out of the country for extensive time , so I hope youre right and that the officer will take that in consideration as well as my reason for doing this.
