If you're asking when you will get receipt notice..usually anywhere from 2-6weeks..some people have even reported longer times..also for it to be processed, you're looking at 4-8months...no definite time..just estimates!👍 @namastenyc take note!

thanks dude.

Hi everyone. Hope you all are doing well. What advice would you give to someone who has not received any updates/news from USCIS - yet, for the I-485 application timeline for my borough in NYC they are already processing October 2017. My application was received in August 2017.

Is it a good idea to be proactive and make a case inquiry with the USCIS or write a letter to the Vermont Service Center. Should I contact my Congressman? I’m not sure what to do. I filed 1-360, I-765 &

I-485 in August 2017 and my VAWA was approved on March 2019. I’m in NYC.

I’m uncertain about what next steps to take. Given that there was already a backlog in cases previously which has only intensified with Covid-19 - what is the best course of action to take?

My EAD expires in March 2020. I think I can only apply 90 days in advance. I hope that if I file for EAD extension in Jan, I can get the receipt notice in a timely manner.

I would appreciate any advice or feedback from you guys. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. 🙏

Have a good night.

Your timeline for I-485 does not begin until after VAWA approved and file was sent to NBC for processing by Vermont, so you are looking at 2019 at the earliest, not 2017.

Hi All,

two weeks ago I sent my I-765 renewal (C-09) to vermont and I haven´t received any notification. Do you know how long would it take to them to process the mail they receive ?.

Regards,

Dany

I think i called them with my mind. Today I checked my mail and the receipt notices were there. One for my I-765 (C09) and the other one for I-131.

🙂

Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. I filed my petition on Sept. 25 and now can breath out for a second. However, I still have my initial marriage interview scheduled for late October so my questions are as follow:

  • When I go by myself without the abuser, what documents do I show and what do I say? Has anyone done it? What's the process? Is it scary?
  • Did you guys tell your abuser the interview was scheduled? Mine doesn't know and I don't know whether I tell him.

I don't have a receipt notice (or my lawyer didn't tell me) for the petition yet.

Happy Monday! Everything will be okay!! Show up there by yourself or with your lawyer (as you said you have one). Explain to the officer that you're no longer with your partner and that you've filed for Vawa, also kindly ask them to hold your current AOS application. They'll reopen your case once/if your Vawa got approved. If you don't get the receipt notice by the interview date, they'll give you 30 days to mail them the receipt. Good luck! :)

Hey..that's ok..it's something most of us did..whatever you do..not tell your abuser about the interview! Are you expecting he will just show up with you all loving and supportive or what?..did you forget why you filed vawa?💁 usually when you go, you take your i360 NOA and prima facie if you have and let the officer know you just filed the petition..but if you don't, let the officer know as well..they should give you an option of sending it in or so..no it's not scary at all..just be calm and polite..you'll be out within minutes!😊👍
