Hello friends. Does anyone know the average timeline for USCIS to process a VAWA RFE answer. It’s been 46 days since they got it.

I don't think there is a set time..but usually anywhere from 30-120days....I personally got response 60days after sending in my rfe. Most people wait much longer than the timeframe I stated above..it all depends on how the response satisfies them..vawa cases are not the easiest to adjudicate..it's not a black or white kind of situation..so many grey areas...when they make a decision, they reach out to you.😊👍

I totally hear you but unfortunately we can’t do much to push USCIS at the moment.COVID has caused delays in interviews.

I just got a new position and HR IS already asking me to keep them updated, my current EAD is valid till 6/2021

I suppose, contact your congressman and do an inquiry if not already done. Show the HR that correspondence  so they understand that things are in process. What do you do BTW? I can see how certain industries would be more reluctant with all this than others

I'm a project manager. But I'm working short term positions right now. Paying too much in health insurance and other benefits.

I was guessing it was IT related. Yep, it sucks as the employers May think they can get someone with more stable visa situation however, H1b is also in choppy waters. Hang in there, it will get better at some point.

I  started the vawa process since Nov 2016. I totally regret leaving my home country and my good job. I hope it works out soon. I've not seen my family in 7years. Can't wait!

Thank you @Stillwinning!!!😊  this been nerve wrecking. Lots of waiting without certainty. I try to keep myself distracted as much as I can. I hope they respond soon. Best of luck to all of us waiting out there.

So sad that after 20 months I was sent RFE...I don’t know what it’s in there ..but I know that I already sent my police report ,police clearance from my country ,joint bank statements ,joint life insurance..medical report about my injury I got from my wife ,statement of affidavit, and psychological evaluation stating my abuse from my wife ..I don’t know what else this people need from me ..I’m just weak right now but I know God is in control ..Uscis can be so funny sometimes ..I can’t wait to see what’s inside the rfe..I guess it might be more witness about the abuse ..or statement of affidavit ..I don’t know what else they want cuz I sent everything in ..they said I should be getting the rfe before on the 10th of September..that if I dnt get it I can reach out to them ..I just wanna get out of this whole immigration back and forth things ..it’s tiring and nerve wrecking ,though I dnt always really think about it ,I just do my best and what will be will be !!

Don't worry I received mine for good faith marriage after 21 months hopefully its nothing big, it will soon be over.

Yes God is in control! To be fair the rfe I was asked for were evidences my attorney overlooked and didn't include initially..Shared residence, good moral character and bona fide marriage. It was when I found this community I knew I (removed) up!🙊I told my attorney we were supposed to have submitted so so and so...attorney said that's not true..blah blah blah..until I was hit with the rfe..my spirit sank some more..totally broken..but then HE makes a way through the ocean..and a path through the mighty waters!!🙏🙏🙏

Guys just because you have a lawyer ( someone with a degree in immigration) don't assume they know everything. Especially if their specialty is not VAWA. Double check your paper work for yourself. Also if possible insist on the paper work/ evidence that they need to send.

My lawyer overlooked some stuff too, and I paid for it down the line big-time.

At the end of the day only the Good Lord will make a way.

Now, I check and recheck my paperwork for myself. I do my own research and I use that to move forward.

If you go back to old threads here on VJ, as far back as five, six years, you will find alot of information about VAWA that Sandra used to give.

Human is to error. Even a lawyer can mess up. So double check for yourself.

Hi everyone, I’ve recently found this forum and been reading (and studying) quietly.. :)

Below is my timeline:

Jan, 2019 - Filed I-360 (I had filed I-485 in 2017, my spouse didn’t show up for the interview. My lawyer and I went and explained that we will be submitting I-360 and the officer agreed to leave the I-485 open. My I-485 was accidentally closed in Feb 2019 and USCIS reopened it in May 2019)

April, 2020 - USCIS Case Status updated “Correspondence Was Received and USCIS Is Reviewing It”

June, 2020 - RFE

Sep 1, 2020 - Response to RFE Was Received

Sep 22, 2020 - New Card Is Being Produced

Sep 25, 2020 - Card Was Mailed to Me

I’ve received C31 EAD on Sep 29..! I’ve been reading that receiving a C31 EAD is an approval - but is that really true? My lawyer says we shouldn’t celebrate it until I get my approval notice..

My second question is about travel. I have two EADs now:

C09 Combo Card - Expiring Feb, 2021

C31 Card without AP - Expiring Sep, 2021

I was hoping I can visit home for Christmas, but now my C31 doesn’t have AP. Will it still be safe to travel with my C09 Combo Card?

Thank you so much for reading, and sending all my positive energy to everyone and their cases ❤️

At first I submitted 1 bill with his name, bank statements and pictures, so when I got the rfe I submitted affidavits from neighbors and friends, more pictures,  psychologist report which they received March 5th and I got approved July 20th hold faith your approval is coming.

Congratulations and welcome here to our virtual family!💐🌼🌸🌻🌺 receipt of c31 definitely means approval...c31 doesn't come as a combo card...yes you can travel with your combo card C09! Go see your fam dear..they'll be delighted!😊❤  *note that it's safe to travel only if you're not in removal proceedings and do not have a pending asylum case also no pending criminal charges! If not..you're good to go!✈
