@Six666, I am also in NYC. File concurrently April 3, 2017. Approved Dec 9th  2018. File transferred Jan 2019. Still awaiting interview. Reached out to Senator Gillibrand twice, same respond, case in queue for interview. Lawyer no help at all, asked him numerous times to do an inquiry, he is mute. It is what it is, can’t do anything but wait. I guess when the time is right, that one interview letter we Are waiting on will pop up.

I have never waiting pateintly until now and a silent reader here.

I called my lawyer yesterday and she told me everything just slow and because of covid everything backed up but she would send an inquiry to uscis. So lets see whats gonna happen.

As you said cant do nothing much but wait.

If you have police report you might not  need a psychological evaluation. What does the police report say?

Yes you can file VAWA, I had several cases  that the abusers were not in the service anymore, and the  petitioners were living  outside of the U.S,and they had  their  VAWA cases approved.

does it also count that we live in my home country?

An absolute crook! A legal crook! Put him in his place! My attorney tried it with me..and I said..can we go back to our signed agreement from the start..a wriiten document..and bam! It was all in there..the fees included coming with me..but alas I was better off myself..attorney was running late..officer came out and asked would I like to proceed without my rep? I'm like hell yeah..came out 2mins later with an approval! Lol😀👌can't never forget!

Seems like they all try that nonsense because when my vawa was approved and I told my attorney and send her a copy of the approval letter she was like  well now you need to contact uscis and find out about your i-485. If I want her to call or if I need her to accompany me to the interview we could discuss the fees when she goes into her office, I was like ha didn't I already pay for that...silence for about 10 mins then she emailed me she had to go check the the written agreement we had because had she  forget that was included, all of a sudden covid have all of them forgetting.

Any idea ?
Thanks

FOIA is FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT

Usually you use FOIA FOIA to get a copy of your immigration file from. By doing or filing someone like  a lawyer or a person can obtain a copy of your documents from the following agencies; USCIS, ICE, CBP or the Immigration Court (EOIR)
