An absolute crook! A legal crook! Put him in his place! My attorney tried it with me..and I said..can we go back to our signed agreement from the start..a wriiten document..and bam! It was all in there..the fees included coming with me..but alas I was better off myself..attorney was running late..officer came out and asked would I like to proceed without my rep? I'm like hell yeah..came out 2mins later with an approval! Lol😀👌can't never forget!

What can happen if you don't have your attorney with you at the time of the interview can the interview go bad or do they interrogate you or anything  what is the purpose of an attorney?

I have the documents I just need to go look at it. But I sent him a email he knows he shouldn’t mess with me because when I come I come with receipts. I’m happy yours worked out great. I hope mine will be as smooth as yours.

That’s what I was afraid of. I didn’t want that to happen but at the end of the day I’m going there praying for it to go well. I don’t have 2,000 to give him, worse in such a short period of time. I’ve come to accept that I’ve been abused and I’m moving on from it, so if I have to go there and talk about it one last time that’s what I’m going to do and leave it all behind me.

Nothing will happen...if you have a sane officer your interview will go just how it will...an attorney is just supposed to pose a legal presence..silently reminding the IO that you're being represented by someone who is verse with immigration law and as such may keep the officers within their territories. But with the unprofessional attorneys I've read about on here, you're better off by yourself!💁 period!

hello my friends!

I'm new to VJ and posted my first question already. I kinda got attacked and a very nice member of VJ gave me the link to this thread.

maybe you guys got the time to look at my profile and read my post?

I'll write a shorter version of it here tho:

im german and we live in Germany because my husband was a uniformed service member. his orders is declared to 2021 (idk the month)

BUT he got medical seperated like 2 months ago, irregardless the embassy in Frankfurt responded to his email that they are still the right place to send the application at.

my and my 2 older kids i130 did he send around the same time he got seperated.

so since we went back to the provisional order I filed at the court, i don't know what to do.

in case some wonder why he sent the i130, he took pills and was normal during that time ( that was when I "frozen the provisional order" eventho official thats not a thing)

regarding to people I've asked and reaches out, I should file for VAWA. because spouses of service members can live abroad and still file for Vawa. But hes not anymore now. But his Orders we sent says 2021.

And some say I should just continue with our i130 and wait for the interview and all the forms I'll have to fill out.

I don't k ow what to do since we live in Germany and not America.

Also, I might should get a lawyer. Can someone recommend one?

You can file your VAWA petition abroad, but you need to prove that you were abused, just telling the abuse will not help you.If you don't have a police report then you need to attend therapy for a while and get a GOOD psychological evaluation.

You don't live with him anymore then your I-130 will not help you, because ou need to prove to the U.S. Consulate that you will emigrate to the U.S with your husband, and he  must  provide documents showing that he can be your sponsor. You can file form I360 by yourself ,but as I said you have to attend therapy or have a police report. There is a BIG difference of  being abused and to have an unpleasant marriage. Abuse usually follows a pattern of humiliation, degradation, isolation, control, threats, coercion etc...

Hello family.

Been absent for a while now...

My abuser tried to contact me while a restraining order was active through one of the chatting apps (Viber). It was actually her cousin. I did not respond at all. I was like 6 months ago...

My therapist pointed me to call judge immediately and let him know that she violated restraining order even though it expired. I did not yet. I have a proof.

What to do?

I am a cosigner for a  car her and her cousin drive. It would be impossible for her to get it without me as a cosigner. Anyway - they are not paying it on time literally raping my credit etc etc. Car even got repoed 2 years ago  without me knowing what was going untill repo actually happened. Then I payed all of the missed payments plus repo fee but the same game continues. I know I can not set my self free from being a cosigner but can I use it as a proof of financial abuse and lies etc etc

Thanks

Probably it's written in the  restraining order that he cannot contact you via any method, including through other, but you didn't take the call and you don't know what his cousin wanted to  talk with you then the  Judge will not consider that your spouse violated the restraining order.

Another question regarding VAWA.

My lawyer told me that if you apply for VAWA, you are cut from all your partner's debt/expenses, or something of that sort.

Does anyone have any further information on this? The reason I ask is my husband is submitting his taxes, and me put me on the tax forms for his business.  I'd really like to dodge this, because I know he's going to owe a lot of money

So, i could get a evaluation. I also have police reports, legal court documents and screenshots.

are you sure I can file for VAWA eventhough my husband isnt a active service member anymore? or are you saying that because on his orders he still is?

actually we live together. all his stuff is here still, his local residents registration is our adress, all he has is a provisional order. either he stays at friends or he just travels arround.

You are not cut off from marital debt until you go through divorce proceedings.  If your husband files joint taxes and owes, you are responsible to pay the amount due just like he is.

Unfortunately you have to wait. USCIS can't approve your petition until the security check is completed.
