I don’t have the keys to that old mailbox because well.. I don’t live there anymore lol! But I already talked to the realtor and she will take it out of the mailbox and leave with the front desk person for me to pick it up tomorrow!!!

Oh cool! Problem solved!😏

I don't know if to expedite is wise because there is no guarantee they will do it.

Someone here said they did it recently and was granted but their reason was because she worked in the front lines for Covid. Also got a letter from work place.

I guess this means your reason to expedite must be really good.

Also, I believe Sandra said if they deny you, they won't inform you.

Someone who knows how to go about this will give you more insight.

Show this to your HR Department hope it will help

Also for someone to request an EAD they have to have a humanitarian reason and you have to submit supporting documents as well.

Another option is a premium processing and with the recent immigration changes the EAD is now eligible for a premium processing ;

https://www.visalawyerblog.com/congress-pass-bill-expanding-premium-processing-to-eads-i-539-applications-and-additional-employment-based-petitions/#:~:text=Applicants who request an employment,issued within 15 calendar days.

Here is a little bit information regarding the premium processing and where and how to file for it;

https://www.uscis.gov/i-907

I hope all this information can help you

Friends, hope all are doing great!

in a bit of a problem now.. applied for my C09 EAD/AP renewal almost 3 months back and no receipt. I called USCIS and they asked me to send a letter to VSC (they won't talk about VAWA cases over the phone right?) - my lawyer sent the letter 2 weeks back. She said this most likely won't work and we can reapply. EAD is expiring January 2021 and I'm worried...

What should be my next step?

Your lawyer can call the VAWA Unit, they will talk to her.

I think there is some confusion here-

Just so we are all on the same page: You had a valid EAD (c09). You sent in the renewal for it (765 as c09 renewal). You got a NOA for it. The NOA has wording on it about being able to use it as an extension right? So you need to show your employer the expired EAD card + the NOA extension letter.  They can not accept just the extension letter. The extension letter is only good when its combined with the expired card. The RMV is the same. They will need both the expired card and the NOA saying the expired card is still good.

Do you not have your expired EAD card? Did you lose it?

Did you send the renewal to VSC? Did you send it with a tracking number? Were you required to pay for the renewal? (If you paid for the 485 you dont need to pay again, if you used a fee waiver for the 485 you need to either pay or do another fee waiver)

Your renewal was either lost or is in the process of being rejected- or- has been accepted and the NOA was lost or not sent yet. You have time though so dont panic. As long as you send the renewal (and get the NOA dated as such) prior to your card expiring you will get the automatic 180 day extension.

If you dont need to pay for the renewal then the easiest way is to do as the attny suggested- send a new renewal. If the old one turns up its not a problem that you sent a second renewal request. Just make sure you send it with a tracking number and pay attention to the NOA receipts you may get. Its easy to confuse cases when you file multiple times. If the old renewal does show up and you refiled a renewal they will have different case numbers. One will be closed out eventually.

Thanks for writing.. yes I paid for 485 and did not pay for EAD renewal (only paid my lawyer).. yes the package was tracked and my lawyer confirmed that it arrived. Haven't received NOA still.. sent in Aug 2020

I was trying to avoid burdening the system with a double application if possible, but that's looking like the best option now...
