Thats what I found as well online. I hope some people here know of they were able to or not.

Well as you said, it may depend on an officer, but why would you risk any chance of messing with your interview? They may say you can't use her and reschedule you for another interview many months later. Also I guess you need a Spanish interpreter? If it was a rare language maybe it could slide, but there are definitely hundreds of Spanish interpreters in TX, I'd highly discourage you from doing that.

Hey everyone! Happy Friday!

I have my i485 interview in 3 weeks. My question is can I take a relative , my daughter , to help me translate ?

Or will they not allow it. I tried to find information online and all I found was that it depends on the officer. Does anyone have any experience or have an idea ? Thanks

One more thing, in your 485 form, part 11, that's where you put interpreter's information if you are using one. If not then you have to sign the part that says " I have read and I understand English" something like that.

Did you sign that? Saying you understand English? If so, I think it will be tricky to bring in an interpreter at this point.

What will we do, if to say there is no visajourney forum? Thank you so much for creating this forum.

Something else would pop up in order to fill the vacuum tbh.

Contradictions without citations only make you look dumb.

Hello folks, I'm 2018 filler and it's over 25 months but nothing yet. What can I do please  ? Thanks

So many people got approved at over 25months..but you can ask your congressperson to interfere at this time..if you're pending security checks, then there's really nothing for you to do..but wait.💁

Nothing much to be honest. I'm in the same boat, over 26 months now (5 months after an RFE), I asked my congressman to do an inquiry and I got an answer that's basically it'll be done when it's done.

You can try and reach out to your representative, all i can say that if it wasn't for my congressman i will be still waiting for an approval on my VAWA. Also here is a link where you can look up your local congressman if you decide to reach out to them for assistance.

Hi guys i just wanted to ask if anyone has a clue why  a scenario like this would happen.

im a 2017 nyc filler

Vawa approved 2019 aug.

i485 transferred to local office 2019 aug too.

but now the update on i485 doesnt indicate that it has been transferred to local office.

and it says “Correspondence Was Received And USCIS Is Reviewing It. “ this was the message i had before my i485 was transferred to my local office.

what can trigger the update on file to roll back?
any clue?

many thanks

Can my daughter go with me to help me translate?

They will not allow your daughter to translate for you specifically because of your status before you filed for VAWA, it is clearly unethical to allow her to interpret for you.

You will have to pay for an interpreter service by phone for your interview.  Call 800-726-9891 to arrange it.
