I tend to like a thick crust pizza, best i've had was in Chicago. Load it up with mushrooms, onions, black olives, sausage and loads of cheese....yummmm. So i voted American Pizza.

speaking of homemade pizza... I have some leftover steak meat and I am going to make a BBQ pizza with the steak and some sauteed onions... YUM!! YUM!! I would add bell peppers to but I don't have any right now :P

i also make my own pizza dough

mmm, the pizza was yummy!!!

I prefer homemade...with homemade pizza dough. Marilyn, do you make several pizza shells and freeze them? It's perfect for when you want a quick pizza and you don't have a lot of time for making the dough. I'm going to work on making our own sauce so we can control what's in it (i.e. less sugar, if any). I love summers!

Deep dish and thin crust, are not signs of American pizza, but signs of American pizza joints destroying the integrity of our well developed crust, and the true taste of a nice original crusted, mushrooms, italian sausage, onion, black olives pizza. To top it all off, a nice layer of sauce with melted mozzarella cheese on top. mmm mmm mmmmmm. :) Thats a good pie.

no, i use a bread machine to make the dough so I can only make a certain amount at a time... usually enough to make 2 pizzas... With the bread machine it is quick and easy anyways.. I just throw everything in and it takes about two hours.... then all I have to do is roll it out after....

Italian pizza, of course. Best ones I've ever had were in Naples & Sicily. I'm yet to have a really good pizza here, although I'm sure there are fantastic pizzas to be had, it's just that I haven't found them yet.

Oh, and I miss UK supermarket pizzas - obviously not as good as the real thing, but Waitrose ones in particular were gooooood nonetheless. All the pizzas I've bought in supermarkets here so far have been, well, rubbish. :(

What I don't understand is when I was in England, most of the menus for pizza carryouts listed American pizza having corn as a topping.

If it's so American, why isn't corn listed as a topping choice when I call pizza hut, little ceasars, papa john's or domino's? Even when I lived in Chicago and ordered from local places there... no corn. hmmm.

Um...yeah. My fiance eats tuna and corn on his pizza. ####### is that all about?

Tuna is good though on pizza with some red onion. Oh yeah. I thought it was weird too at first, but I got over it. I made a pizza with tuna on it the about two weeks ago. My mom walked by and asked me ####### was I doing. I thought she might throw up watching me eat it. Never had pizza with corn on it. I am not the biggest fan of corn though.

The only other country I have eaten pizza in is India. One time from Domino's, the other time from Pizza Hut and they tasted pretty similar to those chains here except you could get different toppings like paneer and Indian spices.

My favorite is NY style pizza, which we have a lot of around here in Florida. Papa Johns, Domino's, Hungry Howies, and even Pizza Hut are, to me, a much lesser weird version of NY pizza, which is the real stuff in America or should be! :P

I would like to have pizza in Italy though!

For ****'s sake, people, PAPA JOHN'S IS NOT REAL PIZZA!!!!!!!

I like Papa John's, but there is a vast difference between it and real pizza.

As to "American" pizza, any true pizza lover knows there are two distinct styles in America, New York and Chicago, and they cannot truly be purchased more than 50 miles from the aforementioned cities.

i think papa johns is disgusting. dominos is a close second to being as bad. if i had to pick a chain place, its pizza hut all the way. actually, pizza hut in morocco is damn good, believe it or not!! with shrimp, calamari, cheese, and tomatoes on it.... sooo good! ;)

i can't imagine someone just not liking pizza. its weird to me. pizza is amazing. even bad pizza is usually good!
