K1 Question

Hello everyone!

My K1 petition expired July 12, 2020 but base in the USEM website and their email response it is extended up to 4mos and that would end in Nov 2020. Now my question, is it okay to ask them for an interview if the 4mos extend is almost over? or ask 2mos before Dec and Jan holiday kicks in. My medical test will going to expire Jan 2021 and as i understand in the website they are close in US and PHI holidays and will going to have more holidays after Jan. I'm afraid these would delay more or will going to let expire my Med Test.

I'm so stress out, any advice?

Thank you & Godbless!

Actually the embassy extends the petition for up to ONE year, 4 mos at a time.

As for the medical, the embassy has been extending the validity an additional 30 days.

sigh*

God forbid that 1 year extend happens to me.

I feel like the Medical is the simplest thing i could reason out for interview (and i need to wait til Jan🥺).

Seems like they love giving hard times to applicants🤦‍♀️

Thank you @Hank_

The Embassy let our medical expire, made us pay for a new one and then made her go through the Sputum Protocol again, for the second time, even though they acknowledge that she is negative.  Now here we are with an 8 week set off.  St. Lukes blames the Embassy for the protocol problem and the Embassy will not answer Emails.

I hope they won't let my Med expire, from filing and til our case "ready" there is no problem, no rfe, my medical test was only 5hrs test and the same day i got my result. They atleast explain why K1 is not process (people are debating between priority & not) and many people are clueless, it's insane and just like yours you need to do all these stuff like forever (i feel your pain).  I'm sorry for you and your fiancés struggle. It's getting too much.

You need to contact your senator and congressmen, Send a letter to you President. Philippines is under severe lockdown and has been for month.  I think I read you had to jump thru all kinds of hoops and get permission slips just to travel from Cebu to Manila.  When did the Philippines turn into communist China? You get your country to open back up and you would see the USEM open back up. As of now thier hands are tied with PHilippines silly and stupid rules on quarantine/lockdowns

Public transportation closed or greatly limited all over Philippines, Lock Down, Liquor bans, 53% unemployment, and the economy crumbling more and more each day.

The US Embassy is one of the easiest embassies in the world to deal with, and they are very lenient on giving out visas, just look how many spousal and marriage and tourist visa they grant each year.

Where I live we are back to normal, people working, malls are full again, kids back in school, no lockdown, no passes needed to go from one place to another, this is America the land of the free.  Only thing different here is everyone is wearing masks. But life has went back to normal.   We didn't curl up in a ball and go into the fetal position like most of the Philippines did.

Our petition was approved in December, so if there are still no interviews, what then? We have to refile?

The consulate can extend it due not having any available interview slots.    This used to happen in Mexico from time to time.
