Hello. Our i130 was approved and we just received an email from the NVC to log in and pay fees then submit the i864 & ds 260. I’m ready to go but held off on getting police reports as some had stated to waited seeing as though they can’t be older than 6 months and we had no clue when our i130 would be approved.
So now it’s approved and I called ireland & the UK for police reports only to be told it usually takes 4-6 weeks to receive a report but because of covid it’s going to take longer! My heart sank. Is this the typical wait time for police reports? Any guidance or information is well appreciated.

Due to Covid, my wife's police clearance certificate took a little over 4 weeks to obtain, when it normally takes 5 business days.

You can take 2 approaches:

1.  Apply for the police clearance cert.  Complete the other submittals to NVC (I-864, docs for I-864, DS-260, IV docs.)  Upload the PCC when you get it.

2.  Do as above, but instead of uploading the PCC, upload a signed letter from the applicant (beneficiary) that due to Covid the PCC will take longer to obtain, and that you will have it by the the time of the interview.

My wife and I decided to go with option 1.  But others took option 2 and it worked.   If you choose option 2, make sure you have the PCC by the time of the interview.  The first date is set by the NVC, but you can reschedule.

It’s simple to be honest. There are 2 options:

•fill the application online https://www.acro.police.uk
•go to the police office and asked for an application

For my husband in UK he went online to print the application with a check(standard service) to get it soonest it took about 10 days and this was done on December 2019 before we made the payment at NVC.

Once approved and schedule an interview appointment we file for another POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATION(mailing it)just to be safe. This was done in mid- August 2020(received it after a week) and  ACRO made a mistake about his “birthplace” on his certification, we called them and they send a new one after a week later. It took about two weeks for us to receive it. Good luck!

Yes if you mail your application with a standard option it mostly likely that you will receive it before a week.

Even with covid?

Does it give you an expedited option? We chose that option last month and got it in 2 days.

I haven’t seen an expedited option but I’ll ask. Thanks!

Does it need to be through arco or will the application from the police off work?

Thank you for the info! It’s very helpful! We’re going to try option 2 and hope it’ll be ok. I took picture of the application for ireland, just need to get an application from the UK

For option 1, your IV submittal status will be incomplete until you upload the PCC.  You will not get Documentarily Qualified until after everything is submitted.

Mine took roughly 2 weeks for it to come through which didn't hold my application up much at all. I am based in the UK though so it may take longer beyond that.

These are the options for the site:

There are two service options available for your Police Certificate:

  • Standard service - £55 - 12 working days to process (Saturday, Sunday and UK bank holidays are not working days).
Please also allow reasonable time for delivery of the certificate.

  • Premium service - £95 - 4 working days to process (Saturday, Sunday and UK bank holidays are not working days).
Please also allow reasonable time for delivery of the certificate.
