I am wondering how the processing times are calculated on this website?  I assume when someone receives the NOA2 form, they will need to log into this website and enter the date received.  If they don’t remember to log in or do not update their profile, I assume that could make it seem that the process is taking longer than it may be since maybe they received the NOA2 but never updated their status?  I see someone that entered a date of March 10 and one other on March 5, but the rest date back to February.  I am wondering if others received in March but did not update, which is why the processing time shows 180+ days.

You are correct that the estimated timelines are driven by accurate member-entered data.  The larger the sample size of data entered into the system, the better the estimates will be.  @Captain Ewok is the guru for the site and the calculations.

I think I remember him saying that open-ended time spans are not included in the calculations.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yeah there might be other March or even April filers who are getting processed that aren't on this website too. Because uscis says processing time is 5-7 months, so there must be some people who are getting it in 5

The number of people posting timelines here is a very small percentage of the total number of cases.  To give you an idea, there have been 1123 K1 cases with timelines on the VJ forums in the past 360 days, while in 2019 there were 35,881 K1 visas issued.

Thanks for the information.  I think 1123 visas can still provide a good representation of the estimated processing time.  But, if there are people that post their NOA1 status in the beginning but maybe never come back to the website, the NOA2 status will linger and then the overall time will calculate to be longer.  But I agree that 5-7 months is the rule of thumb.

How can that be if calculations are done using only cases which have both dates entered?  I could be incorrect, but I think only cases with both dates would be used for calculating the time between Nao1 and NAO2.

For example, if people are receiving their NOA2 letters but not updating the website, then the website will continue to calculate a longer processing time.  However, it could be shorter if people are either not updating the website after the NOA2 is received or they are waiting before it gets entered.  It was just a previous question and I think I understand now.
