We are finalizing our I-751 package. We emailed our lawyers' assistant about a few questions, and we feel like we didn't get straight answers. Anyone want to weigh in?

QUESTION ONE: Other Names Used (p.1, 2a, 2b, 2c): Some of our supporting evidence, such as cards and mail addressed to us, uses Ali (instead of the legal Alexandra). We have never told USCIS that Ali goes by Ali day to-day, as it is not her legal name. Should this section be filled out?

  • Answer: Ali’s name is Alexandra, which is what she has on her green card.  It is also her legal name on her birth certificate so we have to use Alexandra.

In the past, we have had enough supporting evidence addressed to Alexandra to be able to omit the Ali's, but not this time around. Is it necessary to fill out this section if we will be including cards from our friends and family addressed to Ali? I feel like if we don't, it will create some confusion?

QUESTION 2: Information About Your Children (p.3, part 5): We have no children. We weren't sure if the answers should all be 'None' or left blank. If we must fill out, should we answer 'None' for Child1, Child2, Child3, Child4, Child5, or just Child1?
QUESTION 3: Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities and/or Impairments (p. 5, part 6, questions 1,2,3) Ali has no disabilities or impairments. We weren't sure if the answers should all be checked 'No' or left blank.

  • Answer: You have to answer all questions.  If any questions do not apply to you, you should answer no.  Do not leave blank or immigration will reject the application.

So...... None? No? Ahhhhh!

Yes.  On the I-751 form, it says --

Other Names Used

List all other names you have ever used, including aliases, maiden name, and nicknames.
