Interview time for MARCH filers

Still no interview date. I emailed the consulate, asking about status of the case, and why the interview still hasn't been scheduled.

This was their reply:

Your application is undergoing congressionally mandated administrative processing. As soon as we can set an appointment we will be happy to inform you.

I checked other threads re: Admin Processing, and a lot of people are saying that ALL petitions go through it, they just don't tell everyone, and some take as little as 5 days, so most people never even find out unless their processing takes longer.

But what confuses me is the "congressionally mandated"...What is that supposed to mean?

I got an email from the embassy that they actually received the petition on July 16 and sent out packet 3 on July 25, so I guess it won't be so bad if my girls waits until she receives it to send it back in, should be today or tomorrow hopefully.

Congrats to you on packet 3 that is on its way to your girl. hopefully, it will be either today (Friday here) or tomorrow (Saturday). if not, it will be wednesday when the post offices are back to work again..Good luck

Get all the required documents ready and go in with confidence. you are going to do just fine, Elmira. you don't have anything to worry about. at the US embassy in Thailand, most k-1 interviews are fast, uneventful, and painless. i hope that is the case for you too at your embassy.

I noticed the DS-230 we have says it expires on July 31, does anyone know if we send it to the embassy on August 1, will they not take it because it is technically expired? Do we have to wait for the new version if we can't send it until then?

If you are referring to the DS 230, where it states "Expires 07/31/2007", then you will be okay. You can check the DOS website which will always list the most updated forms. Even if DOS placed an updated form on the website on 08/01/2007, you could still use this form as the government does NOT move that quickly..... Below is the website....

Mine as well, also I-134 they send us valid only till April 2007!!! But we used forms they send us as even on USCIS website they have same one (I mean old one)

I am wating from my Fiance. He promissed to send everythin on Monday so it means I will have them 2 days before my interview. he will send it via DHL so hopefully I will have everything on time....

Hi Guys and Gals,

Sao's interview is in one week. We are both so excited. I know we don't have anything to worry about, but let me tell you this waiting is making me a nervous wreck! I thought waiting for the NOA2 was hard, but this is just as bad. I will just be glad when this is all over and she finally gets here.

She will arrive in the US in the 3rd week of August. I am counting down every minute of the day.

To everyone else that is close, good luck and God bless. WE all are almost finished with this part of our Visa Journey!
