Lost Renunciation Certificate, can I obtain a copy or will I need to restart?

I applied back in 2015 and lost it as well. I reapplied in July this year and received it in about 2 weeks. I lost my passport as well that had the stamp for renunciation. Do you have passport with a stamp that reads "cancelled after acquiring foreign nationality"? If you have that, then it should work. Read my guide for instructions on applying. If you apply now, you will need to pay the fees and could also have to pay $250 extra if it's been over 3 years. It costed me close to $575 to certificate.

06/12/2014: Biometrics Appointment

02/13/2015: Green Card Was Ordered To Be Produced

02/20/2015: Green Card Has Been Mailed.(Received Tracking Number)

N-400 Citizenship Timeline

07/05/2012 = Eligible to apply for Naturalization based on the 5-year rule (90-days rule applied)

01/11/2015 = Sent N-400 Packet (to Phoenix Lockbox Facility via USPS Certified Mail)

01/15/2015 = N-400 Packet Delivered

01/27/2015 = I-912 Approved

02/02/2015 = NOA1 Received (Priority Date 01/15/2015)

The passport must say"Cancelled due to acquiring foreign nationality." If it just say "cancelled" then that won't be accepted. In that case you would need a certificate.

Hi SDeepak, as Jot18 detailed. I used my passport which had the stamp in it. "Cancelled due to acquiring foreign nationality."

If you have passport with that stamp then it's sufficient. You need either passport or the certificate.
