Can we PLEASE give clarity on what date NOA1 is

I think this mainly applied to K-1 and CR-1’s but 50% of people put their received date as their NOA1 date and 50% put their notice date as their NOA1 date.

 

which one is it?? On Facebook especially people post that their march 3rd NOA1 got approved but in reality they are a Feb 25th filer. I know it’s not a big deal but I think sorting this out will make the processing time on this site more accurate.

I 797 has a spot for recd date,   one for date of notice sent and a place for priority date

it would be the priority date if they put a date there (they didn't on mine)

so i had to go by notice date which was the same as date recd

I always assumed NOA 1 was when you received the official "notice of action" paper via mail. It's probably getting more confused now because people are filing online and thus they're getting the "NOA 1" via text message/email/online update instead of a physical piece of paper in the mail.

 

Go by the file date rather than the NOA date, as it seems it would be more accurate. I have no idea how Facebook groups do it but here you can sort by file date if the filled out their timeline properly.
