Combo card or separate EAD and AP?

I just received a message that my EAD was going to be printed and I should receive it within 30 days (hooray!). It didn't mention the AP and also I haven't had any updates on my AP - it's outside of processing times, so I inquired about the status a week ago and were told they'd investigate and let me know...within 30 days

The USCIS website reads that some applicants get a EAD+AP in 1 card, but it's not clear to me who qualifies. (Obviously, speaking of ppl who applied for both AP+EAD at the same time).

Thanks! Pretty jealous of your wife's timeline!

So what would be a reason to not issue a combo card?

Generally if there's an issue with one form, or they are sent at different times.

Personally, when I filed mine together. I only received an update for EAD, and said EAD was being printed/issued - when I got it, it was an EAD/AP combo card. To this day when I check the USCIS "new" page shows "case was received" for all x3 (EAD/AP/AOS). I've had my Greencard since January 2020... the older (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do) site shows a little more accuracy, but still only shows AP as "approved" (after my greencard arrived)

Summary:

Filed I129f: 06/09/2018

Hi Luke, what's the "old" USCIS site? I've only been using the https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus

I believe https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do is classed as the "older". There's no account creation etc and you just enter your receipt number.

https://myaccount.uscis.gov/ is the "new" site or previously (months and months ago) referred to as the new site, where you create an account.

Some update in one and not the other, sometimes both and sometimes neither. The consistency is unprecidented honestly 😂

I guess I once created an account on this one, too, but it always returns my password as incorrect and I cant remember the security questions, so that one doesnt work for me :p
