It probably will have effect at all.....however, tax transcripts I have seen are already censored by partial SSN redaction.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Can my wife provide my tax transcripts/ returns with the social security number blacked out to the immigration officials at her consulate interview?

Not feeling comfortable sending sensitive information like that in the mail. Wondering what effect if any this would have on the interview process.

By Mail do you mean postal mail?  Why are you doing this?

YMMV

No need.  Just scan and email.  She can print there.  There really is nothing "original" about a tax return transcript.

I agree with this. The past 5 years I have printed my transcripts, they only show the last 4 of your social security number. The first parts are "x" out.

To clarify, I uploaded my tax returns, NOT the tax transcripts.

I then looked up and saw that the SSN is blacked out on the tax transcripts. I have blacked out the SSN info on my tax returns/ 1044 the same way it is in the tax transcripts.

Follow up question-- even though I uploded the 1044/ tax returns to the NVC (they were accepted), can I have my wife take the tax transcripts instead?

Thanks!
