Strange, speedy requests from NVC

Hi, everyone! An odd thing just happened to us at the NVC stage. I finished uploading all the financial support info + civil docs on August 26. Today is September 2, and I already received 3 messages in the CEAC portal requesting updated documents (2019 transcript, birth certificate, marriage certificate). I was under the impression that NVC usually takes 1-2 months to review and request documents, and then you have to wait another 1-2 months for an answer again. I have not requested an expedite, though our priority date is February 2019 — we were unfortunately delayed by my joint sponsor's tax filing situation. Anyway...

1. Although I uploaded my joint sponsor's 2017-18 taxes + his extension filing for 2019, they need his 2019 transcript. Ok, BUT in the CEAC portal, it's showing that they've already accepted all of my joint sponsor's documents. Do they just want me to submit the transcript by the time the interview takes place? Or will they not move forward to scheduling an interview until I've submitted it?

2. I'm more confused by their requests to re-upload my husband's birth certificate and our marriage certificate. They wrote: "We are unable to accept this document as uploaded without all sides of every page. Please replace this document in its entirety and/or with all stamps visible." The original documents are only one-sided, however. There aren't any stamps on the back. Should I upload the blank back sides, anyway? I'm not sure what else I can do.

Ok, thank you! I'll do that ASAP and hopefully they'll be as quick in responding as they were last time.

Uscis and nvc is working very fast on some case. My friend received  an email on August  20th that her case was approved  by uscis and another email on August 24th with case and invoice number from Nvc. I was really amazed.

I think they randomly do some routine checks on some applications. I had one message to upload the financial info and civil documents as I had only submitted the DS-260 form and paid for both the fees. I was waiting for some documents to come through the post however and it has been 2 weeks since then, and I have formally submitted everything.

It's odd how they wait weeks on end for some people and try to hurry up others (seemingly) as well. I wish there was more order to it, personally.

This happened to us, as well, a few months ago since we completed the DS-260 first. I think it may just be a routine message when you submit part of the application but not all. But who knows?

True. If only we knew how it worked. Not everyone fills out the forms in a particular order however either.

Is it showing up as DQ'd? I think some people advise you to still upload the papers as it will be reviewed, yet others state don't submit until asked for and just show it at the interview. Both make sense 🤷🏻‍♀️

No, not DQ’d yet because we also have to re-upload two civil documents. I guess they might not mark as DQ until they have the 2019 transcript, too, though. I’ll be able to re-upload the civil docs soon, so I guess I’ll see whether once they’re accepted we get DQ’d or if they’re waiting for the transcript, too. It’ll probably take a couple of weeks to get the transcript uploaded, unfortunately.

That makes sense. It took me a while to collect all my documents so I'm just happy I have sent all that is required.

I don't mind the waiting since it's no longer in my hands and I have done all that I could.

Good luck!

Anyone have any experience with this? I submitted my joint sponsor's 2019 filing extension, and they accepted it, but they are now asking me to submit his 2019 tax transcript. Not sure if they will DQ without it and request it at the time of the interview, or if they'll refuse to DQ until they receive it.

If I was in your situation seeing two different things maybe try calling NVC about it cause this was my case as well it took two months later to approve everything (I submit everything on January 2020 they asked for a better clear copy of the tax transcripts in beginning of March 2020) finally I got an approval beginning of May 2020. Good luck!

False.

Please scan both the front and back sides of any document that has stamps, seals, or writing on the back. (If the back of the document is blank, do not scan it.)

These days they are approving things fast; I submitted ours to NVC on Feb 21st and was DQ'd on March 12th, 18 days later. I have a friend who was DQ'd after 10 days of submission.
