For cases submitted on or after July 29 and before the reimplementation (that still hasn't been announced) it's not required, as USCIS would open themselves up to a lawsuit they know they would lose if they do start requesting it later for those cases. There are no links on uscis.gov that currently lead to I-944 PDF and their most up-to-date page says to not include I-944: https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/public-charge/injunction-of-the-inadmissibility-on-public-charge-grounds-final-rule

Sounds reasonable.....Thanks.

That's annoying as hell... I mailed my AOS on July 25, they received it on July 28. Still included I-944, but just wow...

the entire US government is a complete failure. has been for decades and decades.

i would not be surprised if someone gets an RFE for something that doesnt exist anymore on their website..

If you finances are in order what's the big problem with another form. The only time you have to worry about any form, if things are not in order.

For me personally? I would rather not have it requested now due to the fact it would delay me and I would have to pay the new fees. It shouldn't be requested as it isn't even on their website. Otherwise nothing in it is a big deal and I already did the education evaluation and credit checks just in case.

New development. There was a new decision on Sept. 11 completely striking down the injunction, so now I-944 is required nationwide. USCIS is updating their web pages today: https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/public-charge/injunction-of-the-inadmissibility-on-public-charge-grounds-final-rule

And it's pretty much guaranteed that no one benefited from the initial injunction because it wouldn't be probable for an early August 2020 I-485 filer to be approved by now: "We will not re-adjudicate any applications and petitions that were approved following the issuance of the July 29, 2020, injunction continuing until the date of this notice."

I really thought I escaped and now I have to do it even after NOA1. What a shambles. I already have my education evaluation and credit score checks so I should be OK.
