Expect to get a new medical exam if older than 7 months.

Yeah I figured this would be a thing. But tbh it seems silly. We should have to do a covid test and that's it. Someone I spoke to had their medical done (their visa expired too), and a covid test was OPTIONAL. Like, really?  smh. Anyhow, I don't want to have mine done just yet until I know what's going on with my visa. I don't want to risk getting a second medical, just for that one to expire all over again. I don't have the finances for a third time. Even a second one is going to be a challenge.

The embassy did quote specific months (March and April), saying they will reschedule interviews that were previously scheduled in March and April that were cancelled due to Covid.  These were people that were obviously approved before March, and had their interviews already scheduled.

Okay - I'm just saying that the wording is wrong.  Wording is very important.  The OP said "March and April NOA2's"  That's not what you just said.  You said interviews cancelled in those months.  My NOA2 is January and I had a July interview cancelled.

Wise decision, imho.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Correct, it wasn't NOA2's, unless they're referring to a totally different embassy.  But, the one widely shared on here was from Canada - which referenced March and April interviews, not NOA2's.

None of the embassies are working in sync, I wouldn't care much about what Canada is doing, if you're waiting for Egypt.  Even countries in close proximity aren't working on the same page.

I'm not worried about Canada.  This thread isn't about Canada either.  I know exactly what's going on, but thank you for your diligence.

Why March and April?  I am a January NOA2 waiting for interview...

You're right, you're not worried about Canada......   You're just trying to figure out why your January NOA2 in Egypt doesn't match up with that the poster said Canada was doing....

You do you, my man.

No.  You have no idea.  Also - why are you and I having this conversation, since your country is Columbia?  Also, I'm not a man.  Thanks.

Unfortunately a recent medical is an immigration law requirement.  Nothing to do with current times or conditions.  And although K1 is tecnically a non-immigrant visa, it is immigrant intent and therefore the required medical.

I would definitely recommend waiting until a firm interview schedule before redoing the medical.

To actually answer the original question, nobody knows. Everyone here is speculating. What people have been told is if your case is already at the embassy, you will be prioritised over a case which is still being held at NVC.

I’d hope that they at least send the petitions from NVC to the embassy in NOA2 order because I’ve been waiting since March, but who knows.

It is mostly the tuberculosis clearance that expires at 6 months. Visa Medicals in London will not charge you the full amount and will not do the entire medical again. I believe they knock of £100 for the re-do.

So, they take  new X-rays?

Yes, I think that’s mostly the procedure from what people have said in the past who were in a very long AP or needed to delay their interview past the medical expiration. It was someone more recent who said they had their redo with a £100 discount.

Nice that they don't charge for the entire med exam again.....
