19 months waiting due to complete negligence of duty from the archives people that are still hiding from Covid and refusing to go back to work

Some offices' processing time is as short as 8 months. Looks like some of us including myself need to wait longer. The processing time for my office is 12 to 22 months. It has already been 12 months for me.

Is there goes another joke of a response from the party that should be helping us.

Thank you for your request for case assistance.  In response to our inquiry, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) indicated that your case is under active review.  However, USCIS  was unable to provide a specific timeframe for resolution of the case.  Our office will continue to monitor USCIS’ progress on a regular basis until there is a specific action or resolution.  We will notify you  when we receive an update from USCIS.

Please be advised that USCIS is the responsible party for moving cases forward, and the CIS Ombudsman’s Office has no role in the adjudication process.

Hi Fellow 2020 Septemberers!!!

I just became a citizen today. I applied in 9/22/2020 and here it goes my timeline:

9/22/20: Window opens and I sent my application online

10/1/20: Got my NOA from USCIS via mail (in which it is said that the notice date, received date, and priority date are 9/22 (the same day I submitted the application)).

5/15/21: Biometric  appointment scheduled

6/11/21: Biometrics completed

7/14/21: Interview scheduled for 8/9/2021 (however, I have moved, and even tough I had told USCIS that I moved in June 19, I still got an interview from my old address). I cancelled the interview and requested a new date.

9/8/21: New interview scheduled for 10/28/21

10/28/21: Interview day! Interviewer was super nice, not much of wait. I brought some documents, He told me that I did the favor of submitting more than enough documents online and he did not have to see any more documents and that he would recommend my case to be approved. (Also, he laughed a lot after seeing a picture of my husband and I with Rosie O'Donnell)

10/29/21: I checked on my USCIS that my oath ceremony was schedule for 11/10/21. It was really quick, actually the letter only arrived around 11/5, but they upload myUSCIS much quicker than USPS delivers the mail.

11/10/21: I became an american citizen and my journey here is over. Thank you everyone for the advice and good luck!

this forum was so helpful, I feel like I have to pay it back. So, should there be any questions about my journey, I am more than glad to help.

My case was very typical, but I guess the only "unique" part is the fact that I moved out of state during the process and got my interview at my old field office and I had to call USCIS to re-schedule. It was a bit frustrating because I sent them a notice that I moved  actually at the day of y move (it was a fantastic 4 day -long cross-country road trip), but I was unlucky that they send me the interview notice 1 week after I move and apparently it takes 2 weeks to they process the change of address request. Anyway, the outcome was great at the end and I feel great being a dual-citizen now. Best of luck everyone!

Hi,

I also have plans to move out of my current state. I would like to understand what’s your old state and new state and also was the physical initial  interview letter was forwarded from old to new address to new address. Please let me know. Your answer would give some guidance and confidence on my plan to a different state. Also, I see in your new state, you got the interview after 3 months of moving. Just for argument, if you would got interview before 3 months, would it have created any problem in the interview as you need to be in the current address for at least 3 months in your current address to apply for citizenship?

my original state was NJ, my current state is Texas.

I don’t think the time I was living in my new state would raise a problem, because I think this is related to your application day.

I wanted to let you guys know that I got an update on my case this morning. It was a denial notice and it stated:

Based on the information in the record, and your testimony during your naturalization interview, USCIS finds that you have given false testimony under oath with the intent to obtain an immigration benefit. To be eligible for naturalization, you must demonstrate that during the statutory period, September 15, 2015 to the present, you have been a person of good moral character. You have not established that you are a person of good moral character because, during the statutory period, you gave false testimony to obtain an immigration benefit. Therefore, you are ineligible for naturalization at this time. See INA 101(f)(6) and 316(a)(3) and Title 8, Code of Federal Regulations (8 CFR), sections 316.10 (a) and (b)(2)(vi). If you believe that you can overcome the grounds for this denial, you may submit a request for a hearing on Form N-336, Request for a Hearing on a Decision in Naturalization Proceedings, within 30 calendar days of service of this decision (33 days if this decision was mailed). See attached 8 CFR 336.2 (a) and 103.8(b). Without a properly filed Form N-336, this decision will become final. See INA 336.

My attorney was present at my interview and he said that this decision is not coherent so we will go over an appeal process.
