Hi Everyone!

Appointment Friday @ 2:15 Santa Ana CA.

Arrived early, and a lady gave me a handwritten ticket number on my appointment notice told me to seat in the lobby in front of the TV.

Then they turned the TV on and started calling people to the windows by their ticket numbers, I was hearing people being tested for civic and English, mostly done in 5-10 minutes!!!

Suddenly the same lady came into the lobby and told everyone to go to second floor, even if they were not tested!

Second floor (some people were already there and waiting) a man got all appointment notices at the front desk and stacked them on his desk. Then officers came one by one and started calling people based on their positing in the line.

To me it looked like each officer was seeing the applicant/application or their notice for the first time as they had difficulty pronouncing some of the names!

Finally,

I went in and the  officer told me to stay in room and he will interview me via the ipad camera while he is in other room.

Pretty simple testing, only he did writing first, reading and then civic.

For all my docs (green card, appointment notice, passport, ID) he asked me to hold them in front of ipad camera so he could take pictures.

Finally he asked questions about my application, my DOB, how I got my green card, and tax returns and ... Pretty straightforward except the questions regarding my green card.

The whole interview took 20-25 minutes (Including tests).

Then he came back gave me a paper said congratulation, and I should be receiving the oath ceremony letter in the next 2-3 weeks (30days).

I got the email " We have taken a decision on your case..."

Logged in, oath is scheduled for August 23rd!

Getting to the finish line :)

Hi Everyone!

I will have my interview on Friday!

And I have not applied for citizenship on a marriage basis.

I am thinking to take the followings:

Passport (Unexpired, I don't have any of my previous passports)

Green Card.

Copy of marriage certificate, translated. (As we got married back home-Don't have the original)

My son's birth certificate (He was born here in US).

Should I take my tax return docs?

Should I take my I-94?

Also please let me know if there is anything else I should take with me.

Many thanks in advance ;)

Congratulations 🎉🍾

I completed my oath ceremony and applied for my passport!  Interestingly the time it took was exactly the estimated completion which showed when I filed.

I want to thank everyone for their support on this forum thread.

I have been maintaining this spreadsheet of September filers that @DreamCatcher77 started.  The data had helped me as I reached each stage to see how others progressed.  I just updated it but I'd like to hand this off to someone that is still on this journey as I'll be visiting this forum less frequently and I don't wait this to get out of date - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IsFBL5rIL-9JoT8BTK7wET1a6vQIDKEvDKRvVWg-29E/edit#gid=1544700262

Good luck everyone.  Your time will come.

1. the letter asks me to bring. the GC, Passport and other docs used in connection to enter the US. If memory serves well, all other docs were in a sealed envelope and was takend by the IO at the airport! so what other docs are they talking about.

2. apart from this do i need to carry original of my tax returns?

3. what other doc di the 5yr applicatns carry with you that you think I should carry?

Also, if responses would clog the thread, please feel free to slide into my DM lol :)

Hi all!

My husband had his interview on 8/5 at Federal Plaza in NYC and passed, his appointment was 10:15am and he was done by 11:45am. Not even 24 hours later I got a notice that the Oath is scheduled for 8/25 (like damn they're not here to play games!).

Has anyone had an Oath ceremony in NYC lately? I was told it would take like 4 hours by a friend, is that true? My husband wasn't smart enough to ask. I think I'll have to wait outside like I did for the interview, 4 hours is a whole lot of time to spend outside...

1. If you have anything related to your visa then maybe that. But GC and passport should be good.

2. I brought everything that I had submitted via their online portal. They didn't actually look at any of it other however they did take a copy of my latest tax transcript since I had applied in 2020 and was interviewed in June 2021. Basically anything that has changed since you submitted your application. For example: If you have had a traffic ticket and paid the fine, bring that.

3. If there is something that you didn't submit via the online portal, bring that (taxes, travel evidence)

Some folks brought nothing. Good luck
