Question for those who went through the interview:

1. Do I need to bring any additional documents like tax returns to the interview? (applying under 5 year rule)

2. I travelled internationally 3 times in last 5 years, on some occasions I did not get stamp in the passport (Once returning to US and once entering my home country), How do I prove my travel dates?

At a minimum bring everything listed on your interview letter.

I would also bring originals of everything you submitted on your application.  If you did any bank statements or similar dated items I would also bring a recent copy as well.

For travel the big flag is if you left for 6 or more months.  If so you have to prove you didn't abandon residence in the US (paystub, lease, etc.).  Otherwise bring what you have as proof such as airline tickets/boarding passes, credit card statements showing charges when you return, etc.

I never submitted any bank statements, only thing I can think of is updated taxes for 2020. I was never out of country for longer than 2 weeks, so hopefully boarding passes will suffice.

N400 online application 9/8/20

Biometrics notice 3/17/21

Interview scheduled 6/22/21

How long after "interview is scheduled" notification does the actual mail arrive?

About a week but if you go to my.uscis.gov you can download the same PDF now under the documents tab.  It's usually 5-6 weeks to the interview from the date of the letter.

So I had my interview yesterday. I passed the civic test and English test. Then he proceeded with Yes and No questions. After that he started asking me about my divorce (I applied under 5 year rule) which I found weird but still answered. He continued with questions about my ex, from how did we meet, how long we knew each other etc. Then he asked for my 2020 taxes which I gave him. He looked through them and started asking me how much refund I got??? Then proceeded with reviewing my application and asking about my current job. At the end he told me that everything looks fine, but he can't make decision yet because he wants to review my file (I came on K1, got through AOS and ROC), and gave me decision can not be made paper and told me to wait. Now I am so frustrated and sad and I don't know what's going on. Did anyone else go through this?

Do not sweat it, I had a similar thing happen to me during my AOS. I’m still waiting on my interview for the N400. But it was shortly after my AOS interview that I got a notification that I was approved. This happens quite often to other people. Do not worry, let the process play out! :)

Thank you. I received email this morning, action was taken on your case, but when I log in there is nothing. It's so nerve wrecking.

Might take a few for the status to actually update on their website. Understandably it’s not the most fun thing to wait on.

Hi everyone, I wonder if people who live in California heard anything about appointments recently. I filed in September, got a notification about fingerprints reuse in December and since then nothing. I see that other states are processing the cases faster. Anybody from CA who can share their experience?

I think they favor the divorced female gender as opposed the males. The onus is on them to prove that it wasn’t a fraudulent marriage.

Thank you. At the end he started assuring me that everything is fine and that he just needs to review my file as it is big. I just hope to hear something soon, this waiting is just killing me.
