Thank you!

Now I can see these tabs. It should take at least one day until they update the home screen!

also, just to let you guys now, my estimate date is May 2021 (I’m applying from Jersey, so it should be agency style Newark).

I-751 Timeline/ EAC - Vermont Service Center

9/23/19: I-751/ G-1145 sent by USPS Priority Mail

9/25/19: Received Date

9/26/19: Notified by USPS that the package was delivered (one day later... 🙄)

9/27/19: NOA1 Date (also the day USCIS texted me saying that they've received  my package on 9/25)

9/30/19: Check was cashed

10/3/19: Received NOA1 by mail with 18 months extension

10/11/19: Biometrics appointment notice

10/21/19: Date when I received my appointment letter

6/25/20: email from  USCIS saying that card is being produced

6/26/20: email from USCIS saying that case was approved

7/15/20: email from USCIS saying that card was ready to be picked up by USPS

7/16/20: email from USCIS saying that card was taken by USPS

7/17/20: I received the 10 year green card!!!!🙌😎

N-400 Timeline/ Online

9/22/20: Window opens and I sent my application online

10/1/20: Got my NOA from USCIS via mail (in which it is said that the notice date, received date, and priority date are 9/22 (the same day I submitted the application)).

5/15/21: Biometric  appointment scheduled

6/11/21: Biometrics completed

7/14/21: Interview scheduled for 8/9/2021 (however, I have moved, and even tough I had told USCIS that I moved in June 19, I still got an interview from my old address). I cancelled the interview and requested a new date.

9/8/21: New interview scheduled for 10/28/21

10/28/21: Interview day! Interviewer was super nice, not much of wait. I brought some documents, He told me that I did the favor of submitting more than enough documents online and he did not have to see any more documents and that he would recommend my case to be approved. (Also, he laughed a lot after seeing a picture of my husband and I with Rosie O'Donnell)

10/29/21: I checked on my USCIS that my oath ceremony was schedule for 11/10/21. It was really quick, actually the letter only arrived around 11/5, but they upload myUSCIS much quicker than USPS delivers the mail.

11/10/21: I became an american citizen and my journey here is over. Thank you everyone for the advice and good luck!

Hello! I just submitted my N400 today! I have an 1-751 still pending (Nov 2018 filer, ready for interview since April 2019...), hopefully I'll get a combo interview and it won't take too long (lol), I'm in NYC.

You can request to expedite any uscis case usually on financial harship or humanitarian reasons. There are a couple of other reasons that i forgot but those are the 2 common ones that a lot of people apply on the basis of.

But for me specifically i'm doing it for financial and military reasons. I'm a civilian but my husband is in the navy and i will be pcsing/moving to japan this dec and we'll be there for 3 years. We have a complicated military schedule and logistics from state to state and if ever i don't finish the whole process before we leave our current duty station by the end of october.. it will be difficult. i can easily go out of japan to do an interview and oath taking here in the us like what is required under ina 319b. but i most likely will not be able to come back into japan with travel restrictions and military travel restrictions due to the pandemic.

I also filled my n400 under ina 319b so in a way its also expedited cause i skipped roc and went straight from my aos to n400.

But yeah normally when you're spouse is in the military or you are in the military and you're pcsing abroad for more than 1 year they usually grant expedite requests for n400 cases. And expedited processes for other types of applications like k1 or cr1 or even i-130's.

But with that said, i also had to do my due dilligence and actually submit a lot more additional n400 evidences in my packet (which is why i had to mail in my packet and not do it online) that a normal n400 case would not normally even have to submit at all.

Hope that answers your question. I learned all about that from lurking and reading a lot here on visa journey and some fb groups about those topics.

Well for me, i called them up in their military hotline. So i'm not sure if that applies to you or not but the military hotline is (877-247-4645). I actually sent them an email too but it seems they already sent my case to uscis to review it so the email was not needed but i sent an email to  militaryinfo@uscis.dhs.gov and apart from that i already had an expedite letter and back up documents in the actual n400 packet i sent in to them by mail to make it easier for them.

There is also another hotline for non military related ones which you can call and email. Though calling might be the easier one in terms of just letting them file for you. But the email one is nice in a sense you can really write out and explain your situation clearly and you can also upload files or evidence that back up your claims for an expedite. I heard from the uscis officer. I'm not sure what the number and email is so you'll just have to check it out for yourself.

Hope that answers your question! Good luck and hope your expedite will be approved.

hey guys!

Just updating you guys on my case.. today i got a notification from the uscis app on my n400 case. It says that my biometrics was scheduled already. Yay. But i will have to wait for my appointment letter in the mail.

I checked the uscis egov website and it reflected my status there.

Meanwhile i checked just the uscis gov website and it has not been reflected yet there.

Oh and i also wanted to say there was discrepancies on the dates. In my noa1 letter it had sept 8 as the received date and they sent my noa 1 on sept. 16. But on the websites it had sept 15 or 16 listed. A bit odd. But i remember when i was doing my k1 visa and aos too there were some discrepancies between those 2 websites and actual noa 1 and noa 2.

So anyway because those 2 websites show different info... i usually check my case on two websites now just tbe sure.

My questions & solutions:

1. Did you marry your husband/wife before dec 31?  - if you did you and your spouse could file your taxes jointly in 2018 for your 2017 taxes and you just had to send an extra letter to the irs that you elected to be treated as a resident alien for that 2017 tax year.

2. If you didn't marry your spouse by the end of  dec 31, 2017 then you don't have to really file your 2017 taxes. Just file your 2018 and 2019 taxes.

3. You pay taxes for 2017 on or before april 2018. So if you didn't make any solutions for that, make sure to iron that out at least before your interview or the soonest possible time.  Not filling the right taxes can be considered as fraud.

- i arrived sept 2018. And i married sept 2018. Me and my husband filled mfj (married filled jointly) for 2018 and 2019. You can file mfj even if you don't work or don't work here at all. Cause I don't work and for the 2018 taxes i wrote that letter electing to be a resident alien. Got that info from the tax sub forum in this visajourney forum. Helped a lot. And i never had a problem.

So there's these 2 websites.

The old one is the one that always updates for me super quickly right as the action is being done. It's also linked to the uscis app. This has been the case for me since my k1 fiance visa and my aos. All you need is your case number to create your account and check your account status there.

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

The new website is the one that consistently has been much slower in updating the case ever since my k1 fiance visa days and aos. But from what i understand is if you file your n400 online this is the website that you file it in. You cannot make an account without that 1 time activation code to add your case to your account. And this website always has a 2 step verification process.

https://my.uscis.gov/

Side note: they updated my new uscis website status. But it took many many hours. Sometimes they update a day or few days later. So in my case i always just check both since they're both useful information..

Thanks ... I got married January 2017 but got to the US December 27th. Will definitely work on the 2017 tax return since I didn’t file for it
