Got email today informing my interview has been scheduled and field office is Charlotte, NC.

This process in a way is holding our move to Dallas(because of their damn slow processing time) and our out of country trip to see my mom. So very glad to hear this news.

I feel many of you here may have paused some parts of your life decisions because of this process just like we are.. So I hope you all hear good news soon on your cases as well.

I called the local number for our office and the lady said they are still closed for the public. 😑

The interview letter will tell you. But I had a folder with the following:

  • Three years worth of tax-returns showing joint.
  • My husband's birth certificate.
  • Marriage certificate as I applied based on the 3-year rule.
  • My conditional green card, my 10 year green card and my EAD.
  • Lease renewal + original lease of 2019 of our apartment.
  • Recent bank statements.
  • Geico policy showing our active insurances on both names (e.g. car insurance, renters insurance, etc.)
  • Proof of purchasing a new car together, both names and signatures on documents.

However, she never asked me for any of these documents. She only wanted me to surrender my green card's and EAD. This may differ per office and officer, though.

Hi Everyone!

I have been reading this topic but just today I decided to post.

We filed Sep 14 2020, no communication other than receipt of the case from USCIS!

I have two questions:

How can I know where my case is being processed? Is it based on my current location? (I live in Orange County CA)

Is this processing time even normal among current applications and timing? I haven't even got the biometric reuse letter while people who filed after us have gone through interview and oath ceremony!

Thanks! Wait is not fun !

If you did Online, it will be processed in a field office near your current location. Not sure where to find but try uscis field office search. You can check VJ n400 processing timeline and filter by nearest city to you. The processing time varies widely between cities and checking there may give some idea for your city.
