I think because of the original plan to increase fees for applications at the beginning of Oct that created a huge surge of applications and therefore a larger backlog.  I noticed the processing time for N-400 on a few sample field offices I checked increased by a couple of months as compared to when I checked in Sept when I was applying.

WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW WITH THIS HUGE BACKLOG IS JUST INTENTIONAL FROM THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION.

BACK TO 2017, IT WAS ALREADY NOTED THAT MANY APPLICANTS HAD THEIR APPLICATIONS HELD AND WAITING TIMES WAS  EXPANDED FROM 8 MONTHS TO 18 MONTHS FOR THE ROC FILERS, AND 6 MONTHS TO 14 MONTHS FOR N400 FILERS.

THEY THOUGHT ALL NEW CITIZENS ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR DEMOCRATES.

THEIR EFFORTS FAILED BECAUSE THEY LOOSE ANYWAY.

GOD VOTED FOR US.

My online USCIS account under "Case status" shows that "Interview Was Scheduled" and it essentially said they will be mailing me an interview notice.

 

The "Case History" section too says the same thing about an interview being scheduled. 

 

The "Documents" section - does not yet have the upload of the interview notice. But, I've noticed that in this section typically the pdf document is uploaded by USCIS after I've actually received the physical notices.

 

Hopefully I will not have to wait too long to actually receive the interview letter.

 

Good luck to everyone on this journey - and I am noticing that some other September filers too are getting their interviews scheduled.

I think my application was processed at NBC - National Benefits Center.

 

The estimation time for completion still shows April 2021 but hopefully I will be receiving the interview letter soon which means that estimate will likely change.

An update - my interview is scheduled on 06th January, 2021 - Wednesday at Norfolk Office, VA. I am super nervous and super excited at the same time.

At the moment it is restricted to view only and incomplete as it is late night here - I have listed everyone and will transfer all information over in the next 24 hrs. The reason it is restricted to view only because if I were to set it to "anyone on the internet with a link can edit this file" we might be in trouble ranging from "uncareful" editing, accidental removal of information, etc.... and seeing how it can be thousands of people editing from their devices that you have to trust - you and me would not be excited to get any viruses that can accidentally come from those computers when we open the file next. haha . So that's where I'm coming from on this. Let's see how this works out with me being the one doing the editing so far, however, I think this might be better that people can edit their own timeline eventually. What do you guys think? Unless there is some better safer way to do it. Posting this and going to bed for now.

Filed under 3 year rule, NOA1 on 9/18, case completion estimate has said June 2021 from the beginning, our I-751 has been approved as of August 2020.  Field office is Hartford, CT.

Hello. I have a question about the status online after submitting n400. Husband’s NOA is 9/18 and the status said it was sent to National Benefit Center. Do all online apps go there first prior to field office?  My parents also recently filed their apps and it says the same thing. Our field office is Phoenix. Do they all go to NBC first?

Yes, NBC for initial processing (background/biometrics) then local USCIS office

👀 P.S. there are a few people that commented but not enough info to tell if they are a September 2020 filer so I only included usersnames with dates. Please let me know if I'm missing anyone because it was quite tideous going through 22 pages deep that we are now, and our group might be one of the largest amount of filers due to fees were supposed to be going up. Partially the reason why I do not post often as to keep the thread as legible and compact as possible so we can all see our progress. Hope this helps.

i would say it's pretty accurate. 

i submitted my N400 at the end of June 2020, status kept showing estimated case completion December 2020 (which i was thought sounded too good to be true). end of October got my letter with interview scheduled for December 7th.  passed the interview and test, the officer told me the Oath Ceremony scheduling is a little extended now because of Covid, his guess was February-March. but at least the hard part is over and now its just a matter of waiting for the Oath Ceremony.
