Hi guys , I have question regarding travels outside US.

Long story short, I am hitting 5 year anniversary as PR soon, starting preparing the N400, online, and after collected all my travel history in past 5 years, and realized I have 3 trips in which I went out 3 months+, with the longest about 4.5 months. Is that gonna be an issue I need to get some sort of documents to explain? If so what do I need ? Thanks

Hi everyone,

I mailed my application on September 29th, and with the tracking number I saw that they received it on the 30th of September . . .  I still haven't gotten my NOA, and seeing that everyone gets it within a week or so, it's freaking me out a bit. Could that be because I mailed everything instead of doing it online?! Should I try to call and ask if they actually received it?! Or should I just wait a little longer!?

Thank you!

It's because you opted for paper filing, the NOA for online filing is much faster.  NOAs can take anywhere from a week to a month, especially now that they're still working through the after effects of the shutdown and backlog.  No need to panic yet.

I am so glad I found this thread.

Filed online on 02nd September, 2020. Received the I-797C, Notice of Action or otherwise called the Receipt Notice within the next 10 days by mail.

"Estimated case completion time" -  currently reads April 2021 (6 months). I distinctly remember it actually read 8 months ( June 2021) initially and for some reason it got reduced to 6 months.

What I find oddly unsettling is the the lack of documentation that I needed to upload online. All I was required to upload was my marriage certificate, my green card and evidence of a speeding ticket I paid back in 2016.

Is this because I filed it under the 5 year rule?

And before I finished uploading the website splashed a message on my screen "We found no alerts or warnings in your form".

I am kind of slightly worried should I have uploaded our tax transcripts etc., but the online application never asked me to upload really anything else other than the ones that I already mentioned above.

Any thoughts or inputs? Should I be worried?

Thank You.

Finally got my NOA!

How do I get to see my estimated case completion time?

In my case when I log into my USCIS account  - I get to see it. I wonder if this is the case for all those who have filed online.

No need to worry as long as the foreign trip is less than 180 days.

Just submit your Tax transcripts for last 3 years. That's sufficient.

ZKT, what is the name and publisher of your Android app you use to check your USCIS status?  There are many in the Play store and non appear to be from USCIS or Department of Homeland Security.  I don't want some random company to have my immigration information but would love to check status on my phone.

Thanks.

The android app name is: Case Tracker it's by Stephen Aldous. I used to have another one too when doing my k1 fiance visa in 2017-2018 and aos in 2018- 2019. But for my n400 this 2020 i'm just using 1 app which is this app.

Anyway i also don't like any app or third party companies or any other companies knowing any of my personal information. The thing with this is that you just input your case number there and it gives you general notifications when your status changes. Statuses are usually just the generic standard ones everyone gets. So nothing personal and not much info. But it does alert you when you should log into your uscis accounts on both their websites where you can check on all the other info like i do. So that's helpful.

On the same note, i also changed my settings on both uscis accounts on their 2 websites to send me email notifications when something changes. So the app alerts me, and my emails alert me. I also have informed USPS so I know when hard copy notifications are on their way. It's just a good warning system so i don't have to keep checking both websites everyday especially the other one with a 2 step verification. And i know when i need to go out and check my mailbox too.

Filed on 9/5/20. No biometrics appointment yet. Since I live in San Diego, I am assuming the field office is extremely busy.

San diego is pretty fast though compared to a lot of other local field offices. They have been consistently faster for aos and roc and n400's. Well if you compare it to other local field offices. FL and NC ones are also one of the fastest. But for california fresno is the fastest. My geekiness and me studying the visa journey stats and fb group stats is showing. Hahaha.

Hey guys!

Since i always update you with my case... i thought i'd share my latest update. My interview date got changed to an earlier one. Yas! So hopefully i will be done with all things uscis on monday. And please pray i pass everything (interview, english and civics test) and that i also get to do my oath taking and get my naturalization certificate on monday as well. So that i can do the passport application the next day. Thanks! Wishing everyone else luck in their journey.

My N400 INA 319(b)
(Local Field Office: Imperial California)
Case Updates:

Sept 4 - I sent in my N400 under INA 319(b) Package to the Chicago Military Address via UPS.

Sept 5 - The N400 under INA 319(b) Packet arrived but the Chicago office was closed so UPS had to redeliver.

Sept 8 - UPS redelivered my N400 under INA 319(b) after the holiday and was signed for by the USCIS officer by 7:28am.

Sept 16 - The USCIS deposited my Chase Bank Cashier's check and then sent me a NOA 1 (Notice of Action 1 in my mail/address).

Sept 18 - The USCIS sent me a text message with the case number receipt (Friday night).

Sept 21 - I called the military hotline to expedite my case (Monday morning).

Sept 22 - The USCIS gave me a receipt for my expedite in my e-mail. That afternoon I also sent an e-mail request for expedite for extra measure. They approved my expedite that afternoon even before I sent my e-mail since i wasn't sure they accepted my expedite request and just sent me a receipt. But when I called to ask, the USCIS officer said it was already approved.

Sept 23 - I got my hard copy NOA 1 in my mail.

Sept 24 - The USCIS scheduled my biometrics appointment.

Sept 25 - I got the softcopy biometrics appointment letter in my documents page in my uscis account/website. My biometrics appointment is scheduled for Oct 13, 2020.

Sept 28 - I walked in my local USCIS ASC office and finished my biometrics. As soon as I walked out of the USCIS ASC door, my status changed to the USCIS is actively reviewing my case and that they reviewed my biometrics.

Oct 2 - I got the hard copy biometrics appointment letter.

Oct 5 - I called USCIS to ask if my case files are at my local USCIS office or if it was still in the NBC (National Benefits Center). They told me that its been in the local USCIS field office already. I asked an estimated date on when my interview might be (so I can fix my schedule based on that interview date) and the USCIS officer said that she had no idea and cannot tell me. It depends on when my biometrics will clear and when my local USCIS local field office might schedule it.

Oct 6 - My status changed on both USCIS websites that my interview was scheduled. The USCIS sent me a Interview Letter in my mail/address.

Oct 7 - I got my softcopy interview appointment in my documents page in my uscis account/website. My interview date is scheduled for Nov 2, 2020. I called the USCIS to ask if they can try to schedule an earlier date for my interview.

Oct 16 - My interview Schedule was cancelled (Made me Panic when I got the email notification). But I also got another email notification that A new interview was scheduled. I was confused so I had to call the military hotline and also find out when the rescheduled date is for. The USCIS Officer said it's for Oct 26, 2020 at 9:30am.

Oct 19 - I got the hard copy of my appointment interview letter. It was sent by my local USCIS Field Office and not from the NBC (National Benefits Center)

Oct 20 - I got a call from the USCIS Military Hotline that they have successfully rescheduled my interview to an earlier date and that my local field office mailed me the appointment interview letter.

Oct 21 - I checked the USCIS website and my softcopy interview appointment for October 26, 2020 is still not showing in my documents page in my uscis account/website. But at least I have a hard copy one already which is the important part. I might not get the soft copy one on my account because it was sent directly by my local USCIS field office.
