Why does my form say it will be processed at National benefit center ?

and mailed you a receipt notice or acceptance notice. It is being processed at our National Benefits Center location. The notice describes how we will process your case.

I believe all n400 applications filed online go to the NBC first for "processing" and then sent to the local field office after. I filed mined on August and it is being processed at the NBC as well.

Submitted online my n-400 application yesterday and just checked today, it says estimated time is 5 days and estimated processing time is 8 mos.  What does the 5 days mean?

Haha you and I are on the same wavelength! I did the same, with the introduction letter and everything! Only was disappointed that though I uploaded all my evidence numerically in the order I had put in my cover letter, in the finished application they are uploaded all jumbled...but at least they are numbered so should make it easy. Shrug.

That's awesome to find someone with the same wavelenght as me! I rarely find people as meticulous as i am. But you ideally want to make it as easy as you can for your uscis officer so they can process you faster which what happened to my aos (i'd put my k1 as a learning curve. I was also very ocd and it went as fastest as it could with me following up at every step too. But it took forever like everyone else). My aos interview officer also told me at the start of the interview that i submitted everything and so well organized they wished all their applicants who submitted were like mine so i was easy and that i'm approved and this interview is a mere formality.

I was happy to paperfile mine so all mg ocdness and arrangements would be clear and easy to deal with. I arranged some documents too in some L type clear folders (by category like my documents for my identification - birth certificate, biographic passport page, military dependent id, green card or like proof of marriage folder - i have the us marriage certificate, philippine marriage certificate and then photos of wedding and reception and many more. And yeah each L type clear folder will have a number like 1, 2. And each file inside each L type clear folder will be 1A, 1B, 1C etc. And 2A, 2B, 2C etc and they all had tabs on them so even by looking at the cover letter it was easy for anyone to just check what folder (oh there was also a mini table of the contents of each folder in the front of the folder) and pick out the exact document they wanted to see because it had a color coded tab with the code on it. I also made sure i didn't use any staples and just use paperclips the way uscis wants them. I would have used a binder but i read they dislike binders cause its extra efforr on them and just throw them away. I dunno if you know the tv show on netflix (the home edit) and you can say my paperowork style is like their organizing style. Hahaha!

I'm glad i didn't file online cause that would have stressed me out to like try to be so organized and upload everything in the proper order but have them mumbo jumbo later. But super great thinking on the numbering it. Hahaha. But i also couldn't really file mine online since i had lots of extra ones i needed to submit and i had to submit it to the chicago address for the military. Its usually advised to where it should be sent so they will process it faster. But the because of covid they have been allowing it online too. Which i only found out after i submitted it. But its all good.

Yup you're correct. Actually even those that paperfile all of them go to the nbc first and they review your docs and then organize them in the style the uscis likes. Then once you do your biometrics and your name was clear that's when they send it to your local field office for review. I paper filled mine and that's the path i'm in.

But yeah just for trivia, this is also the same process for a green card aos and i think roc too (sorry didn't do roc so not sure of the roc). Its also where the ead and ap are done. I guess since you can consider the ead, ap, gc all benefits in america so its why they call it national benefits center vs. The nvc (national visa center) where the k1 and other visas are processed.

1) I submitted a cover letter with mine. I have done this with the K-1, AOS application, and I-751 removal of conditions. A detailed cover letter outlining every piece of evidence I had uploaded, so that there would be no question as to what I uploaded. There is no requirement to do this, which is why you won't find consensus. But if they say "you didn't submit X", I can say, "You can see it's Exhibit 7b labeled page 46 and here is the PDF in my file reflecting that."

2.) I didn't fill out the "additional evidence" or "evidence of name change" section bc they didn't apply. When yo uclick "next" it will give you the warning that failing to upload evidence may delay your case, but I think it's just a system blanket warning that if any section is left "blank" they warn you that that might not be a good idea. I was certain these didn't apply to me so I clicked next again and it lets you go onto the next page.

I submitted a long cover letter (long because i made a table of all the contents/documents that i submitted with my n400 application and categorized them) but i like it that way so that's its full proof and i won't get an rfe. Hehehe. And they can't say i didn't submit whatever either. I also wrote a short 3- 5 sentence introducing my self and my journey as a k1, getting married and doing aos and then that i'm applying for n400 under ina 319b. And then anothe paragraph explaining my why i wanna apply for it and then another paragraph explaining my schedule and another asking to expedite mine. But yeah i have just had that table/chart with the entire contents in my k1 fiance visa packet and aos packet. So i continued it with my n400. The officer at my interview for my aos was very impressed with my detailed and easy packet and tabs. (I placed codes on tabs) So yeah that encouraged me so much. But its up to you if you want or not want to do a cover letter. I sent mine by mail too so it makes more sense to have a cover letter. But for those that send it in via online.. a lot of people skip that part. But for me i feel it can help your case as an intro or something.

Thanks guys. I was having severe issues with the filing website. It wouldn't let me change some of the comments so I just filed as is without the cover letter. I did try to make sure that all my files were uploaded as they kept disappearing.

Hopefully everything is on there . They are saying it might take 72 hours before my case info is available.

Just got my NOA by mail. The receive date is the same as the Notice Date, and Priority Date. Whatever it means... LOL.

Will just keep waiting. I'm much more patient for the N-400 stuff than I was for the ROC. But, it always feels good to receive mails from the USCIS... 😂

I-751 Timeline/ EAC - Vermont Service Center

9/23/19: I-751/ G-1145 sent by USPS Priority Mail

9/25/19: Received Date

9/26/19: Notified by USPS that the package was delivered (one day later... 🙄)

9/27/19: NOA1 Date (also the day USCIS texted me saying that they've received  my package on 9/25)

9/30/19: Check was cashed

10/3/19: Received NOA1 by mail with 18 months extension

10/11/19: Biometrics appointment notice

10/21/19: Date when I received my appointment letter

6/25/20: email from  USCIS saying that card is being produced

6/26/20: email from USCIS saying that case was approved

7/15/20: email from USCIS saying that card was ready to be picked up by USPS

7/16/20: email from USCIS saying that card was taken by USPS

7/17/20: I received the 10 year green card!!!!🙌😎

N-400 Timeline/ Online

9/22/20: Window opens and I sent my application online

10/1/20: Got my NOA from USCIS via mail (in which it is said that the notice date, received date, and priority date are 9/22 (the same day I submitted the application)).

5/15/21: Biometric  appointment scheduled

6/11/21: Biometrics completed

7/14/21: Interview scheduled for 8/9/2021 (however, I have moved, and even tough I had told USCIS that I moved in June 19, I still got an interview from my old address). I cancelled the interview and requested a new date.

9/8/21: New interview scheduled for 10/28/21

10/28/21: Interview day! Interviewer was super nice, not much of wait. I brought some documents, He told me that I did the favor of submitting more than enough documents online and he did not have to see any more documents and that he would recommend my case to be approved. (Also, he laughed a lot after seeing a picture of my husband and I with Rosie O'Donnell)

10/29/21: I checked on my USCIS that my oath ceremony was schedule for 11/10/21. It was really quick, actually the letter only arrived around 11/5, but they upload myUSCIS much quicker than USPS delivers the mail.

11/10/21: I became an american citizen and my journey here is over. Thank you everyone for the advice and good luck!

Am not sure how accurate it is but am assuming it’s now taking longer than expected times as everyone says which is devastating i don’t know how am gonna travel or do plans after my extension expires.

for the field office am assuming it’s gonna be the same like the I-751 but am not sure how they gonna let us know

My friend was in the same boat as you last year but he was sent another 18 month extension letter 1 month before his first one expired.
