Hello everyone, got finished with my interview and oath ceremony today in San Francisco. Everything went smooth and painless, no documents were asked except ID, green card and my passport. Got into the office at 12:40 and was out around 1:15. The oath ceremony took place in the same building just around the corner at 3:15.

Hope this will help to all those who still have to go through this process. Good luck!

Thanks. My wife will also take the interview in San Francisco end of this month.

Can u tell us if you applied based on 3 year rule or 5 year rule ? Wondering what originals they will ask my wife. We applied based on 5 year rule.

Thanks

Barath

I applied under 3 years rule. When you say "originals" do you mean what documents they will wanna check? If yes, then in my case, they asked only for my ID, green card, and my passport. I did bring along tax transcript for the year 2020, our marriage certificate and my husbands passport.

Where is your field office on the notice of receipt? See the bottom left hand corner of your recepit. The processing time varies by the offices.

So my green card expired and all you have to do is go to the US CIS and get a stamp in your passport for one year so you can travel. In my case because I worked in Middle East for the US government my case is being slow to be processed ironically, it's been 530 days now and there is no movement in my case due to the fact that I was deployed to Afghanistan. It sounds silly but it's our government. If something was wrong with you and your case they would've told you already just be patient and wait or call them and ask them if your file is with the office or with the FBI running the background check.

My wife had her Citizenship interview today in San Francisco. She passed. The oath ceremony is scheduled for Oct 4. Almost done with the process.

Good luck to others who are waiting. You are almost there too.

We applied under 5 yr rule and was asked to show her foreign passport, Green card, and photo id. Then, she was asked questions about our marriage, child, and travel. They were pretty straight forward Q&As. Just be truthful with your answers. You all will be fine.
