Congratulations!  Can you give your tips on how to study the 100 civic questions?  By just reading them seemed overwhelming to me. Thank you.

So, from the day I made my initial application - I divided these Civics questions into 3 or 4 categories. In my case I divided them up into NUMBERS (100 senators, 27 amendments, 435 representatives etc.,) - I had one for AMENDMENTS - and I had another category for important events - I mean it is really up to you how you want to do it and I revised one category one day that way - I never really felt overwhelmed - and then on top of it every single day without fail I did the civics mock test on the USCIS website - I found that incredibly useful.

Hello! I can give you tips from my experience. I had my interview on December 15. I know 100 questions is quite a lot. What I did, I printed out the 100 questions. For me, it’s easier and handy. I can read it anytime and anywhere. Then, I read the whole questions from 1-100. So I know what to expect. And, I studied almost everyday reading and memorizing the 100 questions. Then time to time I asked my husband to ask me questions when I’m comfortable enough. Lastly, there is a practice test on the USCIS website that will help you as well.

Good luck! 👍🏼

Thank you! And I’m happy to help! Yes, that’s good make yourself prepared. Soon as you get the notice for interview, they will give your enough time to review. Like a month or so and thats plenty. Relax and everything’s going to be fine. Good luck to you!

For those waiting for oat taking, did you get your naturalization certificate?

No. You’ll get the naturalization certificate AFTER the oath taking ceremony.

Got my interview for the end of this month. I was surprised that it went through so quickly.

Just a quick question - I married a US citizen to get the green card, but am applying after 5 years of having the green card. Should I bring documents related to the marriage? I'm specifically asking about my spouse's previous marriage, which dissolved in 2010. Some places say that I should bring his divorce certificate, but as I'm applying after 5 years, it seems irrelevant.

From what I've read, because you're applying based on 5 years, it's not needed.  That having been said, if you have it I would take it with you in the off chance it comes up you have it ready versus having to provide it later thereby delaying the approval.

Thank you!  I just started the mock test on the USCIS website also... getting to familiarize everything aside from my own print out.

Oh, I’ve read on the USCIS website that as soon as you get the naturalization certificate you must go to the SSA then do the passport. So, that’s what I am going to do.
