My husband and I filed for his AOS on Sept 10, 2020. The documents were received by the Lockbox in Chicago on September 12, 2020 (Saturday). We have not received any sort of notification as of yet. Is there is a delay in notifications? I have received we should have received a notification with 10 business days. Any type of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 😊

Our pkg arrived on the 11th. We didnt receive any texts or emails (eventhough the credit card was charged on 9/17). We called the USCIS center to ask for the receipt number a few days after I saw the charge to my credit card. Has your card or check been cashed?

I sent my I-485/I-130 package on 9/11, it arrived 9/14. Form of payment was 2 personal checks to a new Citibank account. Just called them today asking why a different check didn't go through recently and they told me it's a checkless account!!!!!!! They put in a request to convert it to a normal account but that will take 24 hours. Praying that USCIS doesn't try to cash the checks before tomorrow..... Was thinking we should submit another copy of the application with another round of checks to that in case they reject the first application we still have this one before the Oct 2 fee increase, and if they accept the first petition and those checks go through we can put stop payments on the second application and have that one rejected, but seems an iffy solution....

Question for everyone. Do you need a copy of the marriage certificate for the I-131 and I-765? I have my certified original with the I-485, and I don't see it on the first page of this thread, but I see conflicting (maybe old?) information that says to also have the marriage certificate in all 3 (just like the I-94, NOA2, passport photos, and passport copy - which are also in all 3...I-485, I-131, I-765).

Don't send any originals. Everything you submit must be photocopies.

You can always read the instructions of each form and see exactly what they ask.

Passport photos is a must. You need 2 for each form.

A copy of an ID is also a must.

I-94 is also under the general requirements (the instructions say you don't need to send it, so it's a bit contradictory. I would send it.)

Some people awhile back were getting RFEs because  of that, so they started to send a marriage  license for each form to support the name  change,  but like I said that was over a year ago. I sent three copies myself since I filed during that time. It made sense to me since the AOS packet is treated like three applications. I would say that would be up to you. People have been sending only one and have done fine.

Yeah, if the name was changed with marriage, the marriage certificate is mandatory to send with the other 2 forms.

We have no name change, that's the thing. She kept her name. Does that change anything? I'll probably just add a couple of photocopies of the marriage cert, just because. The stamped copy straight from city hall is in the I-485.

DO NOT send the original with the 485. Only photocopies of everything. You will have to bring an original to the interview to show them, that's why they specifically ask for photocopies.

Well and just like that I got the checks withdrawn in my account today morning! Thank god, now all I have to do is wait for biometrics/RFE/interview notices ^_^

Interestingly the withdrawals were ACH withdrawals, despite sending in paper checks...!

I-130/I-485

Sent 9/11

Received 9/14

Payment withdrawn 9/29
