Yeah! Mine says fingerprint fee received too! I reckon we are all gonna get RFE for the silly I-944. A total joke as they literally said don't file it and because of that it shouldn't be retroactive and should just be from this point forward. Like why give me NOA1 to just RFE me with this. I spent this morning making a checklist of everything I need for it and getting it sorted. It's a lot but OK. It is laughable I have to do one for my three year old daughter though!

I am so bored. I am not really leaving the house as I am super worried about the pandemic as my husband is high risk. I have a three year old too so we are going stir crazy. Definitely not how I imagined settling in! I can't wait to work as I have a house deposit and I want to buy our own place ASAP! To pass the time I am working on getting my teachers license here and working on my blog as I am trying to network and make a career out of it!

Oh that really sounds quite frustrating! But it’s cool that you’re getting your license, so once you’re able to work you can get it done and start working I guess?! I don’t miss working, I miss the interaction with people and the pay check lol. I have quite the story to tell, but I don’t want to make my private life public so I wouldn’t consider blogging. What’s your blog where can I read it? I have a really good friend who has been through the whole process (but a i130 so not a K1) and he hasn’t been working for 5 years. I’m just not sure how he does that lol I would go up the walls lol. The pandemic is so much worse here than in Europe, however, I do feel like the life is much less restricted vs what I experienced in Germany. So I am glad to be here.

I do literally the same, gym, organizing/cleaning, painting, walks, pool, dogs, cooking a lot of different dishes..FaceTiming, however, I feel like I am wasting so much time/ not used to not working I guess. My husband is going to be gone for 5 months to go to officer school in another state, so I am really thinking I need some kind of task for when he is gone, so I don’t go crazy. Did you come here from Australia? I lived there for a year in 08! I love Oz!! Miss it a lot actually!

Awh man 5 months is a long time, but itll be worth it in the end. I know my husband has been looking into the marines once he gets his greencard, but he is also going stir crazy in the house whenever im working. So actually my husband is from Brisbane, Aus but ive been there twice. Absolutely beautiful there!! Cant wait to go back in april, fingers crossed!!

Update: My package was received September 3rd 2020 sent via third party courier (UPS). Still no updates or charge to CC. Is anyone else experiencing long waiting period?

Our package was signed for on Sept 7 (Labor Day-odd). Still nothing here either. I keep checking my credit card daily. Hoping  all is ok and package is not rejected and we don’t  end up paying new fee increase. Ugh

Yeah. It is a lot of work as I am a teacher and I need to jump through a few hoops to teach here. I am in no rush though as schools are hot beds for COVID. It isn't my dream job but it pays the bills. I don't miss working either. If you gave me enough money to live without it I would never go back. Like you I just miss the money and not sitting at home. It isn't a personal blog. I review video games and publishers give me etc. I will DM you the link as I don't want it connected with my VJ account whilst I am still in this process haha. I am coming from Australia and the pandemic is nothing there. My state had like 3 cases when I left. I had never worn a mask or anything! They are handling it much better but have better leadership. However, I don't feel too unsafe but I do worry as my husband goes to work every day and it would be fatal if he got it.

Another update, the charge posted on 9/18. I also got a fraud alert text from my bank on 9/19 and had to reply verifying that it was an authorized charge.

Still waiting on text notifications with case numbers for the I-485, 765, and 131.

Note that we did not include the I-944 in our package (mailed 8/31, delivered 9/1). In its place we included a printout of the USCIS website alert on the I-485 page and highlighted the following portion:

We also referenced that in the cover letter.

We got 3 case number texts late Monday afternoon (9/21). No emails were sent even though the G-1145 included both phone and email. We have not yet received any NOAs.

Given the update about the I-944, I am now getting that ready in case of an RFE. There are lots of documents that I had previously held off on translating that will now take some time, but otherwise we have everything needed except the educational evaluation (which I will order once translations are ready).

Not looking forward to translating the foreign tax return though, as it is lengthy!

Hi! I have a question about the Affidavit of Support Form I-864. I am adjusting status after entering the US with a K1 visa and getting married. In Part 5 its asking about sponsor's household size - if I am the one being sponsored under #1, what does my husband (the sponsor) put under #3 "if you are currently married, enter 1 for your spouse"? Would that not be counting me twice? What have you guys put there? Thanks!

Hi,

My husband and I are filling out I-485 and I had a few questions. I have read the initial post as well as others through the forum and the self help guides. I also read the instructions page but certain questions confused me a bit and  was hoping someone could give me clarification. He came in on a K1 visa August 5th 2020 and we married that same month.

Under the INA section 245(i) where it asks if we are applying based on INA section 245(i) do we check yes or no?

Part 6 asks about children this also includes my daughter, although she is not adopted by him correct? I understood it as yes to include her.

Part 8 question 55 asked about serving or being a member of military, police unit. He worked for the police so would I answer yes to this? It does not state if he did anything corrupt, just if he served although the question includes rebel groups, insurgent organization.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Consensus is, because of the subheading above that section, that your husband should mark either zero or N/A for that box (exactly which is unclear but I think USCIS accepts both). I also sponsored my spouse, put 0, and our application was accepted last month.

What he should not do is mark 1, even though it's an accurate statement, because then you'll have an inaccurate household size in the automatic calculation (3 instead of 2, assuming it's just the two of you).

It's a poorly worded question and posted the same when we were filling it out!

Hi again! I have another question about the I-864 Affidavit of Support. Under Part 7 item 6, it asks about the Principal Immigrants assets (optional).

I am the principal immigrant (K1 visa, got married) and am wondering if we should include my info in this section? My husband is a full time student, so we ARE providing an I-864 from him, but we also had his US citizen father fill out an I-864. I will also be providing the I-944 declaration of self-sufficiency.

With all that said, should I just leave "Assets of the Principal Sponsored Immigrant (Optional) blank since we have his dad's I-864 and my I-944?

Thanks!

My husband and I filed for his AOS on Sept 10, 2020. The documents were received by the Lockbox in Chicago on September 12, 2020 (Saturday). We have not received any sort of notification as of yet. Is there is a delay in notifications? I have received we should have received a notification with 10 business days. Any type of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 😊
