My AOS status updated today to case scheduled for interview!!  Don't have the date of course, as the mail hasn't arrived, but hoping it doesn't clash with a previously booked vacation out of town!! lol....that'd be the luck!

Filed September 22nd, 2020,

I944 RFE sometime in Dec from memory

Case ready to be scheduled in February (assuming transferred to the DC field office at this point)

EAD approved April 29th

Case Scheduled for interview June 30th.

I'm guessing the interview will be in the next 4 weeks sometime.... but I'll see next week when the mail arrives!!

Almost 9 months later, we finally got in the mail today a biometrics appointment in Baltimore, scheduled for later this month. What's interesting to note is that the Form I-797C reports that the biometrics is for theI-485 and I-765, but does not include the I-131.

But anywho, patience is a virtue!

No biometrics needed for I-131. It's only for I-485 and I-765.

I am so frustrated 😓  😓  😓

Got my USPS tracking number for my greencard, it was supposed to be delivered today.

As of today, it went undelivered with status "Addressee unknown

I have received all USCIS documentation to this address with no problem.

My name is not inside of the physical mailbox, my wife's is.

I'm thinking that they did not deliver because of this.

Will call USPS tomorrow to try to see if they can still deliver it :(

I am fearful that it will be sent back to USCIS and will take another couple of months to get sent to me again. Ugh!

Has anyone heard of this happening?

I did! Have been waiting for EAD for almost a year now after getting an RFE and resubmitting 2x. Looking back now, I should have checked No and just got a SSN from social security office.

In other news, did my interview yesterday and AOS case status updated to "Case Was Approved"!!  🎉🎉🎉

My EAD application's status updated to "Case Closed Benefit Received By Other Means", so, I believe that means with the greencard I will be able to work, finally!

I feel you! I applied in September and only just got my biometrics notice.
So happy to hear your green card is approved! Hope you get your SSN soon now too :)

Made a visit to the post office distribution hub/center, spoke to a very helpful supervisor who managed to get me my letter!

Officially a greencard holder!

Pro tip: Make sure your mailbox has the applicant's name on it, otherwise they may ACK the letter!

I have some questions for forms needed for the green card interview. The letter we received in the mail which tells us the date of our interview mentions the medical form 693.

My wife had her vaccination records and health record signed off in February 2020 for her K-1 visa. She doesn't recall ever filling out the form 693.

We had our civil marriage and she lives with me here in the states now. Does she need to visit a local civil surgeon to sign off on form 693 or can we go to the interview and get approved for the green card without form 693. The interview date letter says they don't need files that have already been completed so they'll have her vaccination records.

Has anyone been told to get form 693 completed at the interview? Has anyone been approved for the green card without form 693?

Thanks!

Never mind. I read in the instructions file for 693 that the person doesn't need another medical examination so a 693 is not required.

Hello September filers.

So later today at 1:35pm is our AOS interview at Chicago.

Hoping for a positive outcome.

Still haven't filed my SSN. I will do it after the interview since I'll be sending them original documents thru mail. Or I can go in person again but it will be in May 11. That's a very long time to wait.

Anyway, have a good day everyone.

Why didn't you request a SSN in your form 765? It was a checkbox to request it and you would have received it around the same time you got your EAD/travel permit.

Hello jsmith2020,

Here's my story. I filed for SSN before filing the AOS. That is why I didn't request it on my EAD

Prior to filing the SSN, the agent from SSA told us that we can file the SSN before and after marriage. The SSN will be the same. But she forget to mention that if I use my married name in filing the SSN it will take time because I will wait for the approval of my EAD. We should have filed my SSN on my maiden name.

Anyways, after approval of my AOS last march my husband called the SSA again for a hundred times already and told them about our frustration with the system. Imagine filing the SSN August of 2020 and still nothing after march 2021. That is 7months. It's crazy. Finally, we get a hold of someone who knows her job well and let us file the SSN that very moment. So I went for SSN application twice. Well anyways, we finally got our SSN after 2weeks and everything just turned out well.

What I learned about this process is to have  a lot of patience, trust and have faith in God. And pray alot.

Godbless us all.

Is a new picture taken at the interview for the green card? Or do they use one of the pictures we submitted before or the picture taken at biometrics?

Biometrics.

-USCIS received AOS application Sep 18 2020.

-Notices received October 04 2020.

-REF for I944 requested sometime in Dec 2020.

-REF sent back March 10 2021. Not longer needed.

- June 17 2021 Biometrics appointment.

- July 22 2021, I765 out of normal processing time.

Case status online didn't  change. It still showing "your case was received September 18 2020". Not even when they sent biometrics appointment.

Called USCIS July 22 for I765. Response was that they are going to begin working on my case.

????????????

What they did all this time?
