hi y'all - to provide an update, especially for frustrated lurkers. After 8 months, still no appointment for biometrics (K1 visa). Just patiently waiting for any update...

Same here. Package received Sep 30, still no biometrics. Salt Lake City LFO

FINALLY got an EAD update.  New Card being produced!

Still averaging about a week from that update to arrival these days?  A little longer?

Have most people experienced that when JUST the EAD case status updates to new card and the Advance Parole doesn't change still from 'case received' that they get the combo card even if the AP status doesn't change?  Or is this likely to be just the EAD?

My AP status changed when my EAD card went to 'Case Approved' -- which is the next status after the one you currently have.

Update us on the thread! We had sent in a service request 5 weeks ago and haven't received a response yet.

Well, I called today and they just said the only thing they can do is to file another service request... then I can call back in another 30 days if they have not responded to the new request.

Sorry to hear about the folks still waiting on biometrics. It's definitely frustrating....

As for some advice (especially if you are just waiting around with nothing to do):

  1. One thing that I did was I called USCIS and specifically asked to speak to Tier 2 USCIS Officer
    • the person you initially get on the phone is a Tier 1 staff but that person is a government contractor from what I understand.
    • You may not get the Tier 2 person on the line immediately, but you can at least request for a phone callback. The Tier 1 may tell you it takes a week or so for a callback, but it shouldn't impact your original ticket request.
    • The Tier 2 person might ultimately need to file another ticket (I know this is "Kafkaesque"), but unlike the Tier 1 I believe they able to "flag" their tickets to get their supervisor to review (or something like that).
  2. It helps to have a specific reason why you need the biometrics scheduled. From what I understand, here are some legit reasons:
    • you need to travel back home (emergency or hardship reasons) and the biometrics is needed for the Advance Parole (AP)
    • you need to work and therefore need the biometrics for the EAP

Hey there! This is just a quick update of my timeline:

Package sent: 09/15/2020 (I-944 included)

Package received by USCIS: 09/16/2020
Check cashed: 09/30/2020
Text notifications: 10/01/2020
NOA1 received: 10/05/2020

Biometrics appointment: 03/17/2021

Interview was scheduled: 04/28/2021

Interview date: 06/17/2021

No news regarding my EAD card, it still shows " Case was updated to Show Fingerprints were taken"... Hopefully before the interview but I feel like I have high hopes, so I'll see.
Have a nice day and good luck everyone!

As mentioned above status changed to "Approved" on the AP application as well..... then New Card was mailed to me on Tuesday.  No Tracking number in that update.... I contacted 'Ask Emma' on Thursday and was told that it had not been mailed yet (even though the status said it had been) and that they tracking number would be applied to the update once it had actually been mailed..... seemed strange to have a status of mailed when it hasn't been mailed.

Anyway, seems that I have 2 documents in the mail today according to my 'informed delivery' daily update..... both dates 4/30 - so I suspect these are the approval notices.  Hopefully card arrives next week. I have someone who has been ready to hire for months now......which is a blessing or sure!!

Just a reminder to everyone receiving their EAD/AP combo cards especially their GCs please make several copies of your card front and back ensure at least one copy is in .pdf format and put away for safe keeping.
