I live in Connecticut and was told that if we live in CT,Vermont or NY we did not need to submit the I-944 but I just received and RFIE requesting the 944 .

we already did biometrics so now I’m confused because I know they said Connecticut didn’t need to can someone help?

USCIS reversed all judge decisions regarding to I-944, so everyone must send it if filed after Feb 24.

We are filing out the I-944 as we just got an RFE for it for my mom as beneficiary and have a few questions (she already did biometrics) :

1. how much in asset value that USCIS looking for to be accepted?

2. She was planning to get health insurance after getting her green card, so we don’t have it now do we need to get it ASAP and respond to RFE?

3. What is the minimum educational or skill requirement to be approved for it?

4. we live in Connecticut and we’re told we didn’t have to submit 944 at first, could this be reversed again soon?

5. My mom didn’t work in 2020 but was in US should I put her 2019 tax info ?

6. I worked in 2020 so should I put my 2020 tax info or 2019?(originally submitted application with 2019)

please help and advise?

I-944 is not the same as affidavit of support. There's no minimum for anything.

The form is gonna be reviewed to determine the current conditions of the immigrant, if the immigrant is most likely to become a public charge even if the sponsor makes enough to support the immigrant. But of course, not having high reduction, not having health insurance, not having assets and having debts will be a negative factor.

The new public charge can change at any time, but you were already issued a RFE, so you must respond to it otherwise the application is gonna be denied.

What do I submit if the beneficiary has no credit history because they have never had a credit card?

I tried adding info into annual credit report website but it says that we could not be verified and asked us to mail in documents...is there another method?

I guess there are few ways to handle it. Someone discussed it here already.

I wrote a letter that as I just came and don’t have the SSN - I’m not able to generate it. Some people notarized it. And others used some website to make a note that they don’t have a credit score.

Thank you!! also do we need to send Beneficiary's W-2 only or W-2 & tax transcript?

what if the beneficiary doesn't have health insurance right now? should they apply for it so they can send documentation in RFIE response OR just mark "will enroll soon"?

I put will enroll soon.

Any update for September filers? Still waiting for the approval of EAD and AP here. Sent out our RFE last January 28. Two months since Biometric taken still no update on EAD and AP.

Send out our RFE I-944 last Monday and expecting USCIS will received it later today.

We had bio November 10, 2020 and it's been 2 months after still no updates on our EAD and AP. But I'm keeping my hopes up. Hopefully when USCIS received our I-944 everything will move again. (Praying 🙏).

Case update today to "Response to RFE received". They begin working on our case again. Hope to see progress for EAD and AP for both K1 and K2.
