my job did not allow me to add her because it was not an open enrollment. I really needed because she is pregnant  & i have to take her to doctor appointments

My job allowed me to add my wife (without SSN) after we got married. Marriage is a qualifying life event that creates a new enrollment period.

Did you request an expedite? This seems to be moving quite a bit faster than others.

No expedite. I believe it has to do with Milwaukee. Things are very very quiet here. The whole MKE metro area has less than a million people, also, when my parents went for their biometrics, My mom was talking to the agent (she's very chatty) and they were telling her that things have been awfully quiet in the Field Office, and that they were thinking that it was because of Covid. Funny how some other offices are just bursting with cases.

Oh I see. Without insurance it's a big money to spend for pregnancy. I hope someone could help you here.

I thought the AP/EAD are handled entirely by the center (e.g. the National Benefits Center) rather than the local field offices. Maybe yours is faster because you’re not doing AOS by marriage though.

Yeah, but what made these cases happen fast was that they had the biometrics done within a month of applying (in MKE), if you see other cases back from June, you’ll see that people get their EAD + AP a couple of weeks after biometrics. In my case, it was a few months because of the RFIE and the month it took me to gather all the docs.

Hi all,

For the I-944's Household's Assets and Resources section, are the Beneficiaries' on this board providing their Petitioner's assets even though the household income is above the Poverty Line?  My Filipino wife doesn't have much money in her Philippine's bank account; even though she had a good job before she quit to marry me.  However, she spent most of her money helping out her family by putting her brothers and sisters thru college.

I can support her well enough, but I just don't know how that looks from the USCIS's point of view.  When we filled out the Affidavit of Support, I didn't provide any assets since my income was sufficient.  Not sure if I should be treating it the same for the I-944.

Update: EAD case status changed to “New Card is Being Produced”. For both cases of my parents.
AP remains as “my case is received”. But I guess it doesn’t matter because it’s a combo card? Either way, they’re more interested in working than traveling at this point.

Hopefully the I-485 case status changes soon to  Ready to Schedule Interview.

That’s good news and congratulations.
Mine was new card produced yesterday then today case approved.

Hey all,

I applied for AOS September 8,

I checked online and saw that on Dec 14th I was sent a RFE but I never received it in the mail so I applied to have it resent again.

Meanwhile,  I was sent my appointment letter for the biometrics (Dec 28th) although it hasn’t updated on my case status online but I have  yet to receive my RFE letter still waiting

I don’t know what’s taking so long 🤦🏾‍♀️ I think it’s for the I-944 as I didn’t send it so I’m thinking I’m going to just start on it even before I receive the notice any thoughts?

We had a similar situation, if it hasn't arrived after two weeks, or there is a pending change of address, a Tier 2 agent can e-mail you a copy of the RFIE. A Tier 2 agent did that for us.

(But yes, it's for the I-944 almost certainly)

Hey there thanks for sharing,

I applied online to have a copy sent to me but it says they will get back to me and it can   take up to a month to receive it.

What did you do if you don’t mind me asking? Online or did you call in?

how do I reach a tier 2 agent?

We did biometrics in November, and still waiting on EAD so seems no rhyme or reason to timelines unfortunately.
