Refused pending medical

Hey guys,

So my visa was "refused" pending the arrival of my medical for my K1 Visa. Interview went great and the guy doing the interview told me it was approved as long as the medical was fine.

It a coming up on a week since my interview and it's still sitting at "refused" on CEAC. I havent received any emails, and I haven't received my passport back either.

What's a normal time to wait? I had my visa interview last Tuesday, and did my medical the Friday prior.

Same thing happened to my (now) husband in Auckland.  I think it was close to ten days after his interview before he got his passport back.  Don't despair, it is coming!

I'm also worried that it's still saying refused a week after my interview, and it was updated today 😬 They've probably just got an influx of applications, but it just sucks seeing it... it also sucks not knowing where my passport is haha

Really, I wouldn't worry about it.  Was anything with your case borderline?

My husband and I were nervous about the delay as well, but it really was just an ordinary delay.  Nothing more.

True!  And Oz is one of the few consulates currently interviewing for routine K visas.

Everything with my case was fine... just the medical left. The interviewer even have me a preemptive congratulations hah.

Yeah it's just been so long, I'm probably just being impatient. Plus I'm in in precautionary quarantine so I have nothing else to do haha

We had the same experience, with the Sydney Embassy. My husband's medical was the day before his interview, because the interview was scheduled so suddenly and there was no other time to do it.  His Visa arrived two weeks later - to the day, and that was just a couple of days after his status changed. You'll get yours soon!

Thankyou. I was just worried as the date was updated but still said refused. Good to know it's normal and it's not just being refused. You would think they would use a term like "pending" or something like that instead of just "refused". I would also like my passport back hahaha

Hi Everyone

My name is Ahsan, Visa CR1, I had Interview yesterday and the officer said he cannot issue me the visa as they didn't get my E-medical, before the interview I did confirm with the medical provider (Sonic Health Melbourne) that my medical has been submitted on 9th of December as I took medical on 2nd of December,  medical provider said it is an error in the embassy system (receiving end) as we have already submitted everything, Now I am so confused what should I do to get my visa, my Passport is already with the embassy as they said they will issue me the visa once they get my medical
