Thanks! 🙂 Do you know on average how much time it takes to get DQed ? I have 2 months in mind but lately things changed a lot...got our I130 approval from Nebraska pretty quickly.

We got our I130 approval much much sooner than expected as well! Our DQ took less than 24 hours and the same for a few other VJ members. 2 months is a good solid estimate. NVC has been working really fast this year so you might here sooner than that. If you have any kind of reason for expedite, go for it as it does not hurt to try.

We summited everything on Sept.16th and Yesterday the 19th we received an email from NVC and noticed  that the status for documents and I-864 has went from summited to accepted.

As both my wife and I live in Canada and only using assets not income we did receive the email that says

"PATRICIA does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants for this case.etc"

I knew we would get that email I seen a lot of people get that email because they are using assets not income .

But we did get an additional email (1st email )that says "Additional support documentation is required. Please submit proof of PATRICIA's current employment. For more information, visit https://nvc.state.gov/fin."

We had sent in with the I-864 a cover letter stating that the current income is $0 and were using assets only.

I am pretty sure after researching that the nvc sends these emails together for sponsors only using assets not income but I will call them tomorrow just incase they do need additional information.

Seems like everything is moving very quickly . Hopefully DQ for everyone .

Congrats, hope you guys are accepted for real !! Did you provide any bank statements showing the value of those assets ? We are in the exact same situation, I would be interested to know what they tell you about this 🙂

Ya I will let you know what they say.

I wasn't sure how many bank statements to send so we sent in 1 statement for each month going back 12 months plus 1 statement same account per year for 2 more years ( probably too many statements I just kept uploading them lol).

Congrats!!! Could you explain how the expediting process works? We were DQ'd in August and awaiting an interview date since our embassy has not yet resumed visa services.

Thanks! We sent our expedite using help from this website (http://www.lovevisalife.com/2017/09/nvc-expedite-request-us-spouse-visa/). You send a request for expedite to NVC. Since you are already DQ'd, NVC forwards your request to the embassy. They will review it which can take days to weeks (you will get an email when it is in review) and then they will respond back with whether they accept your expedite or not. The length of this all depends on your embassy so finding others who expedited in your embassy can help give you a range of how the long process is. If the embassy accepts your expedite, then they will schedule your interview. Again, when they schedule it will be dependent on embassy and how many others are in queue who also have been accepted to to get an interview date scheduled.

From our research prior to sending an expedite, some embassies are easier to get expedites than others. As long as you have a compelling reason with evidence to back it up (i.e. eviction letter if you are doing a financial hardship, a pathology report if you've been diagnosed with something serious), then it is worth a shot. The worse that can happen is that they say no. For those who will try to expedite based on financial hardship, becareful as it can backfire on you at the interview. A joint sponsor will most likely be needed.

Wow! Thanks for the info. I'll look up the link you shared and see what we can do. The waiting is so frustrating, but we don't have much of a choice, do we? Lol

I called NVC this morning and asked about the one email we received from them that said

"required. Please submit proof of PATRICIA's current employment."

She told me even though we are using assets only and entered current income  $0 on the I-864 we need to submit proof of current employment/unemployment or self employed etc from the foreign country if you have or

we could  have my wife just wright a short affidavit about her current situation and sign date.

The agent said go into additional documents on the I-864 and upload it as proof of employment.

So we did that this morning.

When I filled out the DS-260 I had uploaded a cover letter explaining when I move to the USA I will be working in my trade ECT . And the agent said if I did not include that they would of requested that for me as well.

The agent told me  that the other email that said "PATRICIA does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants etc" everyone will get if you are using no income only assets.

She said once someone looks at everything and all is ok we will get the DQ and put into que for Montreal appointment.

I asked if it will be along wait for appointments at Montreal she said " it will be quite a while because we are not sending any new cases there as of yet" So I take it they are trying to get through the backlog first so I doubt the interview stage will go as fast as everything else has.

Hi everybody! We just submitted all documents last night (yay! so happy to officially be a Sept 2020 NVC filer)

But I logged in this morning (literally just to neurotically look at all the "submitted" statuses....lol) and I am getting an "application error" message. Is anyone else experiencing this? Just worried cause this has never happened to me before and it's coming up right after submitting all documents.

Yes this happened to us as well in the past. The website has issues sometimes, just try later. For us, a few hours later we could log in again.
