Hi guys, I have some questions. We received an appointment letter today from NVC. Appointment is on October 28. My questions are:

First, does this automatically denied our request for expedite? Because we requested an expedite last August 21 at the NVC. Then after 5 days we received an acknowledgement email. Next email we got is this, and nothing was even mentioned about our expedite request. We were actually hoping to get an email saying that the US embassy approved our request, but we got this instead. Then just minutes ago, I received another acknowledgement email from NVC, saying they received our expedite request. 🤦‍♀

Second, should I wait for the status of my case to be "Ready" in CEAC, before I can have my medical?

Thank you! 😊

i am not sure about the first question because i didnt expedite my case. but for the second question, in my case the status on CEAC changed to "ready" on the next day after i got email from the NVC, so hopefully yours work that way too. you can try to book an appointment from medical check up which you can get like couple or few days before your interview. i booked mine for fri next week because my interview will be at the beginning of oct.

Does anyone know why did I get a different receipt number from the original WAC number I previously had after paying the Immigrant fee? After paying the fee it tells me the payment was applied to receipt number starting with IOE.

Every Transaction has it's own Receipt#. Now add that to your case Status so you can track it.

For interviews does the beneficiary bring original documents of the petitioner? Such as W2s, tax returns, etc? Or copies?

I know they’re supposed to bring their own original documents but not sure about petitioner documents.

No financial originals are not required. I would suggest having a copy of all financials documents and copy of divorce decrees just in case things got missed or lost. Only hand over when asked.

It's effecting her yes tell about what you are going through but as the petitioner she can tell how this is taking a toll also on her mental and physical health worrying about your safety and health then there's COVID too.

Expedite sent. Wife has actually just started seeing a therapist of her own for this too so we used that. Damn email was more like an essay and we sent like 5 supporting documents, including her proof of accessing mental health services, a statement from the witness about me being attacked, screenshots of conversations between us about it, statements from people close to her about worrying about her mental state. Fingers crossed!

Do I need to pay another $220 after my husband received the passport? It is written that after the receiving the visa we need to pay online before entering the USA. I have never heard about this fee.

Even though it's called the Immigration Fee. It's the fee to get the green card made. So yes if you want a green card sent to you it's $220. That's been in effect about 7 years.

I actually included a scan of a hospital discharge after being admitted for what we thought was a heart attack. Turned out that it was anxiety and stress due to this process. I'm the US petitioner and it sped the process at NVC. It didn't hurt and it helps if you can show that the is causing great hardship on the US petitioner.

That doesn’t necessarily need to be paid before entrance, just sooner paid the sooner you get his green card. You won’t get the green card from USCIS until that fee is paid.

Well actually doesn't matter if you pay before you leave the country or after. Paying before doesn't make it come any faster.

It's all about at the POE when the CBP clicks that button and activates you. Entry gets things moving. I have seen people pay before at it takes twice as long. Like the system forgot them.

While I'm sorry to hear that's how much stress the process put on you I'm glad you were able to use it to your favour. This process is so draining. :(
