Ours was last week hehe

We're practically twinning during this whole process 😋

BTW I also filed Feb 2019 but they never charged our CC and rejected the petition so we had to send it again.

I would've been a Feb 2019 filer as well 😁

I was afraid of that... we've been in AP for over 48 hours. The consulate did not have him on the list the day of his interview, they didn't take all of his documents, and the consular officer gave him a bit of a rough time before she gave verbal approval.

AP after an approved interview means exactly that. They are doing administrative things with the case. They still have to get Supervisory approval. They still have to send Passport to Visa center for insertion.

If he was approved there's nothing to stress about. Stay positive it's cooming

If it is approved, its approved. We had an interview scheduled last month and it got cancelled an hour prior to due NZ locking down, so I am assuming they didn't need much to review after his interview this week.

Just give them a few days. If they said you are approved, then your visa will come. The status will always say AP before issued. Issued means its done and printed and ready to be sent/picked up.

Add 100 days if you're waiting on the Montreal Consulate!

File your I-130 with USCIS - you're given a PD date

PD - Priority date for when your I-130 was received.  This plays in when other things like interviews are being arranged.

CC - Case Complete - when you've satisfied the requirements with USCIS and your case is sent to NVC

DQ - Documentarily Qualified - when you've satisfied NVC's financial requirements and are waiting on an interview.

Once you're DQ'd, you'll typically go into a block of people who have been qualified at the same time for assigning interviews with the Consulate.  When the Consulates are issuing interviews, they'll often give those that have the furthest PD date back the first interviews of the block because they've been waiting the longest.  No guarantees.  As you've probably already learned, there is little transparency and LOTS of bureaucracy with this entire process.  It is FAR from efficient, typically!

Thanks for clarifying 🤩

You filed i130 in January this year! Cool! Youre closer than many other ppl here. 2 weeks is nothing.

I think the point was that even with the extra two weeks you are way ahead of most people (almost everyone) who filed back in 2019 or even earlier and aren't done yet.  You should be happy, not disappointed.  There aren't many people that filed in 2020 and are finished.

I never said I was not happy! I simply stated we have extra 2 weeks of waiting. When you are so close to being done it makes you frustrated to add  more time. Sorry guys yours is taking forever, but that doesn't mean i have no right to feel the way I am.

Meh, I'm not disappointed mine is taking so long.  As soon as I get my appointment for interview I'm going to try to postpone it as we aren't moving to the US until June after the school year is over.  Vietnam is approving Late May DQ now for October interviews and I'm June 1 so I fear I'll get an appointment for November.  I need it to be in January at the earliest.
