This is the bit I'm concerned about... Most of the hardship is on me, the beneficiary. Obviously my wife is scared and worried for my mental health and my safety (I've got a consultation this week with a mental health specialist because I just can't cope anymore and I was assaulted in my own house by my estranged father a few months ago, who lives nearby and threatened to kill me lol). Obviously that stuff is serious and she's scared, but its all happened to me. She has a good support network, I have almost nobody. Would we just spin this to be her being really scared for my health and safety? I mean it's the truth, but... Ya know. Obviously covid has exacerbates it all as well, not knowing anything about when I'm gonna get to be home with my wife is soul crushing.

It's effecting her yes tell about what you are going through but as the petitioner she can tell how this is taking a toll also on her mental and physical health worrying about your safety and health then there's COVID too.

Hello guys, if I bring to my interview some new documents (like new tax return) do I need to load it to CEAC prior to the interview?

I did this and it worked fine. The CO had seen the document ahead of time. They did, however, ask for a hard copy.

For interviews does the beneficiary bring original documents of the petitioner? Such as W2s, tax returns, etc? Or copies?

I know they’re supposed to bring their own original documents but not sure about petitioner documents.

They ask for originals.

Original documents of petitioner also? I always thought only the beneficiary.

Per the State department,  the only petitioner document that would need be original is "If you are applying for an IR1, CR1, or F2A visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and your petitioning spouse was previously married:  You must obtain evidence of the termination of EVERY prior marriage your petitioning spouse has had. This evidence must be an original or certified copy of one of the following documents:  FINAL legal divorce decree, death certificate, or annulment papers."

I left my original w2s with my wife and that's what she gave them. For the i864 I sent her a scanned version and that's what they accepted.

Man seems like Sweden is the place we all need to be. Lovely, safe and hardly any COVID.

But really Congratulations. Finally living in one house. 🥳

Thank you! Haha Sweden really is the place to be. 😅 I just returned from visiting not long ago. It was the best feeling getting away from all of the political turmoil and COVID-related madness here. Life actually felt normal for once!

This is great news and it picked up pretty fast in the Mumbai Consulate spouse group chat. Are you a member of that group?

No, i wasn't aware about that group, will join now. Thanks.

This information was updated yesterday on the consulate website, a bit confusing though. Have they resumed spouse interviews or still the emergencies only?

Immigrant Visas

The United States Embassy in New Delhi and Consulate in Mumbai remain closed for routine immigrant visa services at this time and are providing only emergency and mission-critical visa services to spouses (IR-1/CR-1) and children (IR-2/CR-2) of U.S. citizens.
