If you start over with CR1 you may be waiting another year and a half. DOS just announced they are giving K visas high priority so it would be faster if you stick with K1

No, they said embassies are “authorized to give high priority” to K-1s. Whether they actually will is another story.

Off to Vegas you go for a quick wedding... it will save the best part of $1000 to get it done fast once he gets here.

Is @Loren Y still officiating marriages in Las Vegas for VJ members?  Might be a good option.

What costs $1000? I thought marriage license or certificate costs maybe $100?

@Paul & Mary did give me some awesome destinations such as vegas, reno, tahoe for me which I'm considering for fast processing.

I'm a newbie about steps after K1, do you mind giving me some advice?

  • Filing for I-485 and I-765 new total fee: $1680. ($455 more expensive than right now)
  • Filing for I-485 and I-131 new total fee: $1720. ($495 more expensive than right now)
  • Filing only I-485 new total fee: $1130. (It's actually cheaper than right now by $95)

I'm still available for Vegas weddings. Costs around 80 for the license and I don't charge for my service for anyone from the forums here. Can have you married and certificate in hand in under an hour. Message me and I will send you my contact information.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

Stick to K1 and check with your embassy. I got an email from our Embassy that they resumed interviews for K1 starting 17th September. Patience :)

The difference is that UAE is an unrestricted country and Poland (where K-1 applicants that reside in Belarus must apply) is restricted by Schengen Area proclamation. What consulates in Schengen Area are stating:

Those same consulates are still issuing IR-1/CR-1 visas because spouses of US citizens are exempt to Schengen Area proclamation.

So I am currently with my fiancé.

We filed K-1 in early April. We still did not receive NOA2 since things are going so slow. Additionally, embassies are not processing K-1 visas.

We are considering going the CR-1 route, since it's much more stable and there is too much uncertainty and backlog with K-1, which may take longer than the 1 year CR-1 wait time.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

If you have already started the K1 process, don't start new with a CR1. You're already in the system and things will start to move shortly. Restarting will only cost you more  time and money

Most likely still an indefinite wait at Warsaw embassy (where K-1 applicants that reside in Belarus have the interview) because Schengen Area proclamation is still in effect.

Switching to CR-1 should at least be properly considered by OP.

Would it be possible to ask the NVC to send the petition to the Moscow or Kiev embassy to avoid this?
