Need some help guys. I'm a SEPT 2020 filer. we have the MSC Case #. So my spouse got the extension in OCT 2020 and they scheduled for the biometrics in DEC 2020. and after that for many months we didn't get any updates. Nothing from Jan to June. And I just got busy with life and lost track. we just checked again this week.... and it says as of Aug 11 they are set to schedule an interview. My spouse and I know for sure we didn't get any mail related to that. So I guess the interview date has not been scheduled.  Good thing we checked the status now.

I read many ppl saying for MSC cases an in person interview is a standard now. What can we expect at this interview? and could it be many months from now? or sooner? My wife's 18 month extension for now expires in MAY 2022. (And by this Nov- nxt month basically -- my wife spouse will have been in the US for 3 yrs as she landed here in NOV 2018)

Finally got an update on my wife's case status. It says the following below:

My wife was a Sept 2020 filer as her GC was about to expire by Nov 2020. Got  the initial 18 month extension. Then we got another extension till Nov 2022. All this time we were waiting for an interview, but eventually it looks like a new 10 year GC card is on the way? can anyone confirm on this? We never had an interview so far (once in the US).

Me and my wife will be married for 5 years now (this year Aug), and we have a 19 month old toddler who was born in the US.

"New Card Is Being Produced: On June 16, 2022, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSC1ABCDEFGHIGHI, and will mail it to the address you gave us."

Yes, you have been approved and your card will be mailed soon. The next update should have the tracking number. There have been more instances of approvals without an interview lately for those that didn't do AOS. They are trying to work on the backlog.

Congrats!

For those who . Expect combo interview must read.

Sharing my I-751  from CR1 YSC timeline and
 September 2020 I-751 applied
May 16,2021 Biometric appointment ( Call to request biometric 5 time since March 2021 )
September 9,2021 n-400 applied and Change my legal name though n-400 from
Apirl 26,2022 n-400 interview scheduled
June 14,2022 N-400 interview and pass civic test  At Greer,SC Field office but decision can’t not be made because I-751 file wasn’t there.
The officer said hehe have to request the file from another office and he will approved I -751 then the filed come. (I don’t have to go back to interview) after that I have to wait 2-4 months until oat ceremony scheduled because I change my legal name.
June 24 ,2022 I-751 got transfer (Gard bring produce )
                          - n-400 status change to Oat Ceremony will be scheduled.

Noted :  Wait for judge oat ceremony because I change my name in n-400 from.
———————————————————————-
I bring my husband and I ask officer that he need to be in or not. The officer ask me back if I  have kids. I said yes.  So he said my husband doesn’t need to be in.

I bring all the files along with me. But the officer said he will do the N-400 and civic test first.

After I passed civics test he ask information about the from and also told me to confirm about my name change. So I say yes.

Then he told me it will take 2-4 months for Name change process.

At the end he look on file and told me that my I-751 have to be requested from another office. I passed civics test but a decision can’t not be make until he got the file.

Then I asked him if I will have to come back for interview I-751 again. He said no he just going to approved from the file.  And after the court approved new name they will schedule oat ceremony.

Notes : There are no 100% that you will get combo interview at the same time. And some people already got 10 years green card still have wait  for supervisor to review  their I-751 before Approved their citizenship.

I filed Sept 2020 and as of Sept 2021 I have been ready to schedule for an interview. My case is with the National Benefit Center (receipt number begins with MSC) and they have no processing time to even check if my case is outside of normal processing times. And you cant even talk to anyone! Don't worry, we are all in the same boat here. I am just worried that my 'extension' is only until December 2022 and what if I do not receive a new extension. I have not been able to apply for new jobs as the visa expiration date is a big issue.

Why is it an issue? You only need proof of ID and your social security card. As your SS card itself doesn't say restricted, it shouldn't be a problem. At this rate I'm going to need to make an info pass appointment later this year because I'm heading out of the country at the end of December. It's kind of an annoying inconvenience but we should be near the final stage at the 2 year mark.

I recently bought a house and so many mortgage lenders denied me due to the status of my visa expiration. One lender told my wife that they could not approve me because I might "run off back to my country" come the end of my extension which was outrageous. A couple of jobs have given me a hard time about my visa expiring at the end of 2022. One lady said "can't you just go down to the office and get a new one?" Yeah if only it were that easy.

Legally you don't have to provide anything concerning your green card, provided you have a valid SS card and state ID. Personally I'd talk to their HR department and potentially looking at filing a grievance against lenders. Sounds like discrimination to me tbh.

We contacted our lawyer about it. Definitely discrimination. Surely they would want our business instead or turning us away? Haha

Same situation, sadly it's just a case of waiting right now. I think you can make an inquiry at 31 months right now, which is still 7 months away. At this rate I'll need to make an info pass appointment in November for my vacation in December.

You have to call to set up an appointment. I think there's a thread on it.

No updates here. Filed Sept 2020, radio silence since Jan 23, 2021. The case updated then to show fingerprints were taken, and that was it. I went ahead and filed my N-400 today.

Seeing that a handful of posters here had their I-751 approved in the recent months gives me a little bit of hope that there might be some movement soon since my extension expires in December.
