We just randomly checked our case and it showed “New Card is Being Produced”.  I don’t even know when it got approved, but thankful we’re close to the end without needing an interview.

My case is 233 days active and all I have received so far is my extension letter :(

My case was sent straight to MSC so no transfers or anything. But I haven't heard anything since. It was received 9/11 and got my extension letter shortly after but that's as far as it goes in terms of USCIS updates. No biometrics waived or anything. Is this normal? I feel a lot of people in my boat are getting their cards already and I'm still at step one.

You are not alone. I filed on 9/1 and it went to EAC. I did hear about my biometrics on 9/27 but nothing since. 233 days for me

At least its comforting to know that even the immigration officer said that it is 'normal. Where is your case being handled?

Most CR1 cases are routed to MSC, they haven’t been interviewed by USCIS. Almost all cases have to be interviewed at some point either at AOS or ROC. So in your case most likely the delay is because your case is in line to get an interview, and your local office it’s probably busy with previously filed applications. Other service centers besides Texas, takes longer, difficult to guess why, maybe they process more applications.

I hope so. I was getting a little disheartened and worried that something was wrong when I saw a lot of people on here having their process take only a matter of months. I don't think there's anything wrong with my case, I checked it a million times! I was also thinking it could possibly be due to the furlough situation they had over the course of the pandemic. I believe like 1/3 of USCIS employees were furloughed. I don't believe many cases were being processed during those times. Fingers crossed its resolved before my 18 month extension is up haha 😄

Waiting for an interview can take forever, it doesn’t mean there is something wrong with our cases, there are just many other cases ahead of us.  When I applied for AOS it took almost 2 years. That waiting, we all have to go through at some pointed. Before the previous administration it used to be way faster, merely months. Hopefully change is coming!
