IR1 Visa at Dublin Embassy

Hello,

My spouse and I (US citizen) have been documentarily qualified since April this year.  We have been patiently waiting for the interview date. However it is getting very stressful and depressing for both of us, as I am in the USA and my spouse is still in Ireland.

Has anyone been able to successfully get an interview appointment yet for IR1 visa

I have called the embassy, only to get a voice recording, and have emailed as well, getting no response back.

I haven't seen anyone on the forum getting an interview for CR1/IR1 interviews. The embassy has said they are slowly reopening for routine visa services. My guess is that they have been dealing with the student visas as they have to be over in the US before the term starts. So I'm hoping that this month we will see some movement in relation to CR1/IR1 visas being scheduled. If you look at the visa issuance stats from July compared to June for Dublin they have definitely started to process more NIV's ( mainly student visas from the breakdown) so hopefully they'll start on the IV's next. This is just me guessing on what I'm seeing though. It is very frustrating though I've been DQ'd since early June.

NIV and IV visa units have different staffing

YMMV

Oh right I see, I was thinking more along the lines of limited space in the waiting area so they were priotising student interviews but again I'm not sure if they even conduct IV and NIV interviews in the same space. Thanks for the info though

Wow, @r.sv waiting since April! We got DQd beginning of June, so I'll definitely be watching to see when you get your interview. I'm anxiously awaiting the stats from August to see if they bumped up the processing of IR-1/CR-1 at all. My biggest hope is that once they are clearly up to speed that it won't take long to get an interview, since it seemed like pre-Covid it didn't take very long at all to get your interview scheduled.

Wow, congratulations!!! I'm so glad to hear that you finally got a date -- you are the first person I've heard that has received a date since Covid began. Did you expedite or do anything else special?

Nope, just been waiting patiently.  I did contact the embassy and the NVC a couple of times just to make sure our file was not lost in a stack. But we have just been waiting for a long time.

It's good to see there's actually some movement! I think I'm about a month or so behind you in getting DQd, I'm hoping that any student visas they had to process are done and now they are focusing on spousal visas. They only ever seemed to get about 20-30 a month pre-Covid, so I'm hopeful there isn't too much of a backlog and we might get an appointment soon.

I hope your interview is quick and goes well next month!
