Traveling to Mexico with Reentry Permit

My understanding :

1. It's not enough to have reentry permit to enter other countries. They may require visa.

2. If one has reentry permit and GC, some destinations such as Mexico, should in theory allow entry visa free.

That’s literally what I just said in the posts above. You need to apply for a visa to other countries if you have a Reentry Permit and Greencard. But some countries like Canada and Mexico may let you in without a visa. 
i went to Mexico by cruise and didn’t need one. Just a Reentry Permit and GC.

This is what I found on the mexican consular webiste

• If you are a Permanent Resident of the following countries: Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and any of the countries of the Schengen Area, you do not need a visa to enter Mexico for tourism, business or transit purposes. All individuals in this category are required to present their valid and unexpired Resident Card along with their passports. Both documents must be valid during your entire stay in Mexico. 

• US travel document holders must present a US valid Permanent Resident when entering Mexico if they are nationals of the countries listed in the following link: http://www.inm.gob.mx/index.php/page/Paises_Visa

I am assuming REENTRY PERMIT is considered travel document? Mexican consulate here in nyc has been impossible to reach via email/phone or appointment..:(

Yes, REENTRY PERMIT is a travel document.  So I guess you don’t need a visa!

I'd think it's the GC that grants visa free entry to Mexico, not a reentry permit.

Yes, the Greencard that grants visa free to Mexico but they can use the Reentry Permit in leau of the passport. So you need to bring both instead of just the Reentry Permit.

Yes, I did. And I have been traveling the world with my reentry permit instead of the passport. Just need to check the visa requirement. But you don’t need to apply a visa again for Mexico. Just bring both your reentry permit and greencard.

Earlier this year, I have travelled to Europe, Canada and Africa using my reentry permit as well - just wanna make regarding mexico. 
 

Quick question,

 

my reentry permit expires after a month and 4 days when I leave to mexico - but I am going for 10 days so I will be back before it gets expired.
 

In their website, the Mexican Govt says it just should be valid during the whole visit time ( no 6 month before expiry rule)
 

Do you think that will be a problem?
 

or I should be fine.

Passport / Reentry permit / Refugee travel document expiration in less than 6 months may be a problem.
