Taxes question for N400

I am in the process of filing my n400 online but have a question. I filed 2019 taxes before the deadline but IRS have not processed the return yet due to backlog. I know I am going to owe taxes on this return. I did owe for 2018 but it has been paid and my tax account transcript shows I currently have no account balance. My question is do I need to answer yes to the question ' Do you owe any overdue federal, state or local taxes?' even though the return has not been processed by IRS or can I answer no?  and present tax transcript for 2019 at interview while making sure any balance for 2019 is taken care of before interview.

Yes, if you owe taxes ,  you do

and should have sent a check to cover them at time of submitting returns (otherwise they add a lot of interest and penalities so to pay it then, is in your best interests)

Thank you for confirming this. As I do not have transcript for 2019 yet and not on payment plan because IRS were not able to tell me how much I owe, What do you recommend I do? Any suggestions?

My personal opinion is that if you have not been notified by the irs of any overdue taxes, then you answer no. By the time you get to interview, you will probably have an updated tax position and can update whatever is necessary then (hopefully by then you will have both been notified of and paid anything overdue /arranged a payment plan anyway)

Your tax 1040 should have shown (thru addition and subtraction ) the amount owed
