Joint Credit Cards?

I see a lot of people show joint credit cards as proof for the i-751 form.  My question is do you just take pictures of both of your credit cards and submit that?  I'm not that fond of sending the USCIS my full credit card number. Thanks.

You would submit credit card statements. Some CC show who made each purchase, some don't. They want to see transactions. If you have a joint CC but never use it I don't think that's very useful.

 

I personally paid with a credit card so they have that information anyway, so don't worry about that.

why?  you have sent them   all personal and private information including name, address,  SS #,  tax returns,  income and employer,  family info,  etc?

they know it all 

you have laid your life open 

but why cards?  all they need is joint statements showing both names on accounts 

and for our IR1 i just sent the paper receipt from bank showing date i added him

In our case, we did take photos of the cards, and then I blacked out the numbers.  Probably a worthless endeavor as @JeanneAdil mentioned, we already send in a whole lot of personal information.  Anyway, if it makes you feel better, black out the numbers, it did not impact our case.

I sent pictures of the cards (showing same card number for each of us) because my statements do not show both names.  People hand their cards to servers, business employees, and submit card numbers online every day.....yet are afraid to send the same information to USCIS......I don't understand it.

Joint accounts are good, because it shows co-mingling of assets, but I think that the more documents you have that show you reside at the same address, the better. We even used receipts from eye exams. Separate receipts dated the same day with the same address. I think they understand that the US citizen already have bank accounts, credit cards, and utilities in their name before the immigrant comes here. They just want to see that you are living together as a married couple.

 Co-mingling FINANCIAL resources and commitments  is very important......and is better evidence than just having the same mailing address.  A variety of different types of evidence is almost always a good idea....my opinion.

Yes, co-mingling is important. I was giving our experience. The only things we had with both names was purchase of a car, car insurance, and bank account. I did add her to my health insurance just before filing the I-751, but she had been on her own insurance at work. We did include copies of pay statements, which could be matched up with deposits on the bank statements. 

She had her N-400 interview in July. No mention of the i-751, but it changed to approved the next day. Oath ceremony was Aug. 20.

I'd suggest the full joint credit card statements, those usually show both cardholder names, same address, transactions you each made, etc., and usually only include the last four digits of the actual card number.  We have a joint credit card account and occasionally both use it for various purchases, so we're saving each monthly statement plus joint bank account statements to send with the ROC package next year, and of course lots of other documents to show financial co-mingling, ownership, beneficiaries, etc.  Good luck!

Then how can you prove it's the same account? This is only valid evidence if the numbers on the two cards are the same, blacking out the number kind of defeats the purpose. 

 

I don't have joint credit cards with my spouse but we are each other's authorized users on 3 or 4 cards. I didn't send photos of those because it kind of seems pointless - we sent USCIS all bank statements from our joint account where both of our salaries are regularly deposited and all credit cards are paid from. We also have a bunch of other evidence of financial comingling, so it didn't seem necessary. 

 

I also paid the fee with my credit card, so USCIS has that information (but I think they destroy the form after they process the payment).

The bank account is a pretty big piece of evidence.

We did a photocopy of the cards on one page and then copies of the papers we recieved when he was put as an authorized user on my card. Our statement doesn't show both of our names so this was the next best thing.

We just did full card statements for the cards I'm an authorized user on. I think one statement for every quarter since I was added and same for the actual bank accounts. I didn't redact any of the information I've ever sent to USCIS.

Sent a full color photo copy of all our credit cards for AOS and ROC and N400 lol. Joint finances is very crucial.
