A couple pre-interview questions

Hey guys, I just have a couple quick questions I was hoping someone could answer

I've decided to make a trip down to visit my husband hopefully next month for a couple weeks, and was wondering if there is any way to go ahead and get my medical done now (in case of the tiny chance that Montreal catches up on their backlog and schedules me an interview during my visit, hehe.) It would be quite a pain to cut the visit short and travel back up here just for the medical if by chance that did happen, so I'm hoping I can go ahead and get it over with now, just in case.

Also, I read somewhere (can't seem to find the post now) that you now have to pay the fee for the interview ahead of time at the Scotiabank? Does anyone know if that is the case with CR1's and how much the fee is?

Phone the dr and see what they say!! Some want the letter stating u need it done, some do not!! Just explain the situation, and im sure they will be happy to take ur cash!!!

At least when I did my cr-1 interview, one didnt have to pay any more $$$ at the time of the interview.

That's what I heard from the Vancouver consulate concerning K-1s for Canada, and another member got the same information from them. It's effective July 1 in Vancouver. I don't know if the same is true for other visa types, though. You might want to contact the Montreal consulate to check.

I believe that your IV bill that you paid to the NVC takes care of the cost of your visa, so no cost at the consulate.

Definitely phone the doctor and tell them that you do have paperwork indicating your case number (you should have something from the NVC with your case number) and ask them if that is sufficient.
